I cant uninstall warthunder!
Hey guys, first of all I love the game but I simply need to clean up some space so Im deleting some stuff from my laptop.

Anyway, I right clicked the game, clicked on delete local content, done that.
However, the game folder is still there, and when I go to the built in windows uninstaller, the game doesnt even appear there.
What am I supposed to do about this? There is no uninstall file in the folder, nor there is any indication that I can cleanly uninstall the game.

Thanks guys!

If you "delete local content", the game remains in your library but no longer shows there. So for example, if you buy a game, but don't like it and instead of getting a refund, you delete it, it reamins in your library and you re-install it without buying it.

I knew that, thanks for the answer though. How do I go on about cleaning the space though? Surely not just deleting the folder from steamapps/common, right?

Well, if you want to completely remove the game, the only thing I know you can do is to directly delete the folders. That way, the game should be completely gone from your folders, but may still remain in your library due to cloud and all that. However, your data will be saved on your Warthunder account, so if you ever decide to come back, you can pick up right where you left off.

But yeh, actually deleting the folders is the only way (that I am aware of) to get rid of the game.

delete local content only deletes the launcher i believe, you gotta dig around your files and find the actual game wherever its hiding

Have a look in the warthunder folder inside steamapps/common. It probably doesn't have much in it now that it's been deleted. Most games still keep a folder in your steamapps even after you delete local content through steam. You should be fine to delete that anyway if you really need the space, but I reckon that what you've got left on your computer isn't that large.

Check your control panel and go into programs, then programs and features. From there you can also uninstall the game if you don't want it on your PC.

As far as Steam is concerned, War Thunder consists of just the launcher. So you need to delete the folder manually, and that will be that.

Go into files.

Delete it.

Done.

open the task manager, go to the startup tab and disable the Gaijin.Net Agent (gjagent.exe).
then right click on the gaijin.net agent in the system tray and shut it down (exit) if you haven't done this already.

now, you could ofc go into the location where the agent is installed and delete the folder but since it's located in the windows userprofile folders you may not find it because the ..\AppData\ folder is hidden by default... the agent doesn't really take much space so it may not be worth it ^^

once it's removed from the autostart it wont pop up again anyways.

however depending on how you uninstalled the game there still may be quite a large chunk of game data / files sitting on your hard drive wasting space... so it may be well worth having a look into your Steam game folders to see if there is still a ..\War Thunder\ folder present and if so delete it (by right clicking it -> delete)

I found it it's in the steamapps common folder:

Local disk / Program Files (x86) / Steam / steamapps / common

You think OP is still trying to delete it over four years later?
