Crew Voices

Nothing much. Is it possible to change the voices of the crew ingame? WoT has the Girls und Panzer voice packs, which I really like, but Warthunder is actually fun.

Apologies if this has been asked before.

I don't think they will add girl voices since during WW2 it was mainly men fighting in the front lines and the women working the supply lines. Now a days we have some formidable women tank crews and fighter pilots :)

Im going to give you a heads up.

War Thunder attracts more of a realism fan base, and the idea of taking anything anime into that equasion rustles some jimmies.
So questions like this will sometimes get met with very hostile responses- just a heads up.


That being said, no there is nothing like that for this game. The only modifications you can use really are custom skins that only you see and only affect your vehicle.
There are some custom missions as well.

Ah well that sucks. I hope at some point there's support for custom voice packs.

This isn't entirely true, there's a sound mod in development that ramps up ambient noise quality, it sounds much better than vanilla, granted there are many sounds still missing, and getting the modded sounds and vanilla sounds to work together is a bit of a pain so I wouldn't recommend using it until it reaches a more complete state.
Of course theres also custom aircraft and tank models, though they can only be used in specifically designed user created missions, so they're not really important.

That being said, given the difficulty of the current sound mod, which is probably only seeing support due to just how bad some of the sounds in this game are, i'd be skeptical to see people attempt something like that for a simple voice conversion.

I can't be the only guy so far who's delved deep enough into the options menu to find the voice options. It's under Options->Sound. Four packs to choose from, likely language-dependent (at least Russian and English voices are different). Three male packs, one female. No preview though, so it might take some doing to find what you like.

edit: on further testing, it appears it does not apply to the crew chatter in Ground Forces. Or maybe the english voice packs don't have a female version.

Despite what everyone says, yes there is

In settings, just look around until you see the option to change the voice. One of them is called Female Voice 1 or something along those lines

But lots of females fought on the front russia employed tons of female tank crew, pilots and snipers and tons of nations used females on the front too.

I'd say thats a overeaction because if say i play generic game #999 and it has something i don't like i just won't use it.

Nah thats usually how it starts then theyll want to add freaking anime skins to the tanks and fliying anime heads anime characters as a tank and ♥♥♥♥ like that

Well you can get anime skins and stuff but a flying anime head that's fever dream crazy.

In all seriousness though, a GuP mod in War Thunder would be no worse than the Arpeggio of Blue Steel mod in World of Warships. It'd literally only apply to those who opt into it. And it'd make for a great April 1st feature. :)

I don't like using the skins, I prefer to edit my tanks in ways other people can see. Like covering my glorious Stalin steel in a very large flag, so it's just white. Or has cool camo.
