Why do they keep releasing copied bs planes over and over. We don’t want more f14s and like 1000 tornadoes it’s getting redundant. Reskin a plane copy paste and bam event done.

There will be a ton of players that will straight up just buy the Tomcat with GE and many will purchase it via the Marketplace.

If they're going to have event vehicles, this is far better than most of the alternatives that come to mind.

For those who don't want any F-14's (or any naval stuff, let alone Italian one, see the current naval event) at all, this of course is a disappointment. But as always, tastes are different.

As a fellow Tomcat enjoyer, I plan on grinding the event with my F-14B to add an additional F-14 to my collection.

I just don't want to see really truly cool/unique/iconic vehicles get stuck as limited event vehicles. So modifications of stuff found in the tech tree feels like a good compromise.

This^ I am going to get the Tomcat, I want the plane and I want the missiles and I want the camo. So it's gonna end up in my hands one way or another. I would argue that gaijin is losing money on the Tomcat by making it an event vehicle, they should have released it as a pack premium for the next update and got a payout then, another during the October/November sale and another payout in December and then a constant 60-70 USD stream from then on just like the other pack premiums. Something like this would have killed it as a pack premium, the plane itself is highly desirable, it would be good for grinding so players would recommend it long after it's release and new weapons makes it better than the original so it's not a total copy and paste like the pack Type 16 or the Leopard 2A4 where the only addition is a bush (and gaijin being idiots and shooting themselves in the foot by making the type 16 worse than the tech tree version and thus causing reviewers to be less than entirely enthusiastic about the vehicle, hurting sales a bit, I say a bit because it does have the advantage of being the only good option for grinding the tree besides the Chi Nu 2 if you only like WW2 stuff.).

Anyways, the vehicles are much easier to add and have far less in the way of issues after the fact when you just copy and paste or copy and slightly modify. They aren't difficult to place in terms of BR, they won't be meta defining like the PT-76 57, players already know how to combat the vehicles and veterans of whatever tree the vehicle is from will likely already know how to use it so it won't mess with gameplay too much and overall, to quote Todd the God Howard: "It Just Works." and Gaijin isn't going to shy away from it just because it's boring.

They add a copy as an event vehicle people complain that it isnt different than the tech tree one

They add a unique vehicle for an event people complain that it should be part of the tech tree

In the end people will just whine about it no mater what they do

Because Warthunder has become a mobile game.
why do anything creative when you can copy paste the same 5 vehicles over and over and the player base will eat up that crap like it's their last meal

Well the good thing about the copy paste event vehicles is you can sleep on them and not loose much

Unique things like the EBR with AXM-13 turret, the Lorraine 155mm SPG,Sturmtiger and the AMX-120 surblindée being a one shot grind cancer event were rustling jimmies a lot more

i like event vehichles couse then i can play other trees with it instead of just having to grind to where it is in a tech tre couse guess what, ITS FREE and u DONT HAVE TO GET IT if u dont wanna?
