Best Way to Grind Japan?

As I'm going into the higher ranks of Japan, I am wondering what the best option to grind the next rank should be for each one. Namely Ranks 6 and 8, and whether to choose the T-2 or F-104J, or the F-16AJ or F-4EJ Kai.

Leaning towards the T-2 as of now considering it is a lower BR, which makes it not having flares slightly more bearable. Does it play like an F-104?

I can't really tell if the F-16As at 13.0 is good or not either.

Easiest way was just follow the research lines. Use the F1 to research the F16 as there is no xp penalty, use the T2 and F104 to research the phantom and so on. That is the optimised way for XP.
