How can I disable anime skins and pillows? They are seriously immersion breaking

Any way to disable them? As far as I know there is only an option for historical camouflages only, but not for decorations nor decals

Immersion is what you decide it is and has nothing to do with ‘historical accuracy’, because how would you even know what was and wasn’t historical, it’s just knowledge and your knowledge may or may not be accurate so your idea of historical accuracy is subject to your own knowledge and prejudice

99.999 percent of players don’t even recognise any but the most common vehicles in media (tiger, panther, t34, Sherman) and are surprised to be told they have been fighting Cold War vehicles from 1.0 reserves. These peoples ‘immersion’ is not hurt by blatantly ahistorical matches, because what they don’t know can’t hurt them

Hate to break it to you but there are even historically accurate ‘anime style’ paint jobs ingame, all you have really told us is you don’t like anime and have decided that is immersion breaking

Yes, there is only one as far as I know, for the Japanese AH-1G, which I understand, but all those anime stickers and body pilows????

Yes, there is only one as far as I know, for the Japanese AH-1G, which I understand, but all those anime stickers and body pilows????

So what you have clearly demonstrated is you decided you don’t like anime, went out of your way to look that up, and thus decided what was or wasn’t immersive to you while ignoring far more blatant inaccuracy like Cold War tanks fighting vehicles from the 30s that left service even before ww2 was over

You have influenced yoir own expectations through a pre existing prejudice and broken your own immersion in only a very specific way to fit that prejudice

How about people putting the moon lander on the deck of a Japanese ship that was sunk in the 40s? So many options for inaccuracy but you chose a specific one

This is quite the reach to defend anime. I don't mind it (and can't even remember seeing any in my matches) but I can absolutely understand if people don't care for seeing anime waifus or whatever on Shermans and Tigers.

OP did not even say that Cold War tanks fighting WW2 tanks on WW2 battlefields wasn't immersion-breaking for them, but in any case that's related to actual game balance, not vehicle customization.

There is no way to disable them, Past just us your MG or shoot them and they will be knocked off on enemy tanks at least.

No idea why it is so hard for some people to answer a simple question but just go to your Settings and disable fictional / semi-historic Skins / Camouflages and set it to only historical. Done.

I haven't seen a single Anime Pillows since i changed that Setting. Months ago. So either i have been extremely lucky or it does also turn off non-historic decorations.

As said above for me it works. Since i changed that Setting i haven't seen a single Anime Pillow for months. Before i saw one almost every single Match. Or just Jesus protecting me from this crap.

Yea it has to be your luck, still seeing tons of them with the option on.

After rechecking:

"Show content in battle" Does remove Camo, Decals, Attachments
There is also "Show decals on other players vehicles."

In terms of it, That will give you what you want, Past the AH-1G in japan.

So Cerulean is right, My bad.

there are hundreds of things in game which would but you chose just the one you clearly have a hatred for to complain about. It’s not even particularly clever, you might as well just tell us you have a hatred for a particular culture

To be fair to them, for every witch hat and light I see, I see at least a few hundred bodypillows. Top tier matches are literally an anime fan convention, people just slap as many anime decals and pillows as they can all over their tanks.
