the reason i was questioning is because of the Rating difference btw
They are both merkava...
But you probably want to know which one is more worth it in the end, i suggest you wait for the 30% off sale to end this is fairly soon, cuz thats when they announce the gaijin store sales you could pick up the 2D on sale which is definitely more worth it, than buying the 3D for 70$
From May 6th until May 13th.
You can get the 2D, Squad Megach and shot Kal Dalet as a half way working lineup but it´s really on the lower half of working. (Probably still a bit better than boosting a 11.0 Tank with 6.0 stuff...)
Also Israel tends to have really bad win rates which makes the grind worse.
Merkava Mk 2D
Pros
1. BR 9.7 is a good rating to be at, even if you were uptiered, you will face 10.7 at best, and that is the T-90A. You won't meet 11.0 Type 90s, etc. You are almost always competitive.
Cons
1. You can form a line-up only with BR 9.3 tanks.
2. Slow.
3. Big hull. Can be one-shot from the front.
Merkava Mk. 3s and Raal Segol
Pros
1. If lucky, you get downtiered to fight 10.0 tanks. It happens but not always.
2. You can form a 3-tank line-up with the other regular tech tree Merkava Mk 3s.
3. Faster than Merkava Mk 2s with a 1200 hp engine.
4. 120 mm gun instead of 105 mm gun.
5. Laser warning system.
Cons
1. If unlucky, you will be uptiered to fight 11.7 tanks and this happens a lot as everybody plays 11.7.
2. Big hull. Can be one-shot from the front.
I hope this helps. These are also some of the same points raised by some of the guys.
My K/D with the Sho't Kal Dalet is much better than the Merkava Mk 2D. And my Merkava Mk 2D results are better than my Merkava Mk 3B and Mk 3C. I have no plans to get the Raal Segol at all. I will finish researching and buying everything with the Sho't Kal Dalet.
Okay, that depends on your intention, is it to form a workable line-up for battles or is it to grind the rest of the tree? Or is it to earn SL? What are your long term plans?
p.s. I would pick the Merkava Mk 2D. I don't have the Raal Segol.
I am a very poor pilot, I have played a bit of rank 1 and 2 air battles but I can't fly for nuts. I have very few aircraft. All my line-ups are pure MBTs.
You have a 11.0 Kfir, in other words, all your battles are going to be 11.0 anyway, you better pick the Raal Segol, forget the Merkava Mk 2D, otherwise, it is going to be painful, very painful. The Merkava 2D is SLOW, 963 hp on 66 ton. It is sluggish. You are going to face fast Leopard 2s and T-80s.
