are aa units overpowered?
i mean the obvious answer is yes but im curious if im missing anything lets see
1-most aa after 6br are faster than scouts/destroyers so they get to the point before many tanks have even left spawn
2-most aa with 20mm/30mms able to kill everything at the same br with little to no effort
3-and of course being able to sit basically afk in spawn and take out cas with radar/aim assist (aka bad player assist)
i could probably go on but i think iv'e made my point not that i expect gaijin to do anything about this glaring imbalance i mean disappointing/pissing off their fans is kinda their thing

CAS is overpowered, not SPAA. Especially in lower tiers. Your goal as a SPAA is not to capture points nor to kill tanks, but to defend other tanks from dieing permanently to CAS.

how low are we talking because i would agree cas has a slight advantage over aa early br say 1-5 but after 5 most nations aa starts to take the lead and by 7br and up aa is stupidly overpowered as i stated already
30/35mm cannons for AAs are busted for some reason, they deal way too much damage with sabots even against aircraft when 25mm while being 5mm smaller deals nearly no damage

No, lol. If you're consistently dying in ground vehicles to SPAA then use your ears. They, too, will die in one hit. Gaijin has already nerfed the performance of several problem SPAA over the years, so clearly they've deemed the majority of them fair.

Also, SPAA isn't OP at higher tiers. If you're getting killed by gun SPAA when you have guided bombs that can be dropped nearly-undetectably from 3 miles away then you have a massive skill issue. That's just how it is. CAS at higher tiers is so fast and has such strong radar warning and detection technology that it would be a herculean task to take them on head to head with anything short of VT shells if you lacked a radar.

Radar isn't a crutch for bad players, it's a technological advancement. Yeah, it makes killing planes significantly easier. Just like thermals and laser rangefinders make killing tanks easier, and active protection systems and laser warning systems make surviving in tanks easier. Would you unironically say the game would be improved at high tier if all of these technologies were nerfed or removed to promote more "skilled" gameplay? Who defines "skill?" You? Clearly not because you're struggling against SPAA vehicles.

You do not represent some silent majority, dude. You're just one of a few people that struggle against SPAA and wanna make it everyone else's problem.

Idk man he isnt talking about top tier or low tier. The wheeled SPAA around 8.0-9.0 are better than most light tanks. They also have better flank & spank damage output. They seem to do a better job than light tanks which is kinda problem when they are meant to shoot down aircraft.

As I get better with mine AAA vehicles, only to M-163, sometimes its a struggle to get the planes other times they fly right into ya and its lights out for the planes everytime. It really is a skill thing on the pilot and the ground AAA.

im talking mostly brs 5-10 my highest rn is 11 rb USA ground with 9.7
f-104 air so still havent gotten to guided cas yet so cant speak to that but the fact that aa are regularly out preforming scout and tank destroyer tanks is a problem even more so when u take into account how aa can literally sit in spawn turn on aim assist and pick off diving planes from miles out ya i call that overpowered

m-163 like most american aa is garbage (which btw is the only aa line i would say is under powered) but even saying that i can go into a match with the m-163 and expect to get 2/3 air kills every match its stupid ez playing aa compared to cas

i find that most AA is kinda mid, Some are good for shooting down prop planes and thats it, some are good for light tanks but not planes, And some are great for medium tanks but not planes

I do find the soviet AA to be extremely good, With the ZSU being able to do all the above^

But then you got AA like the wiesel which is fighting jets but can't actually hit them especially with hits turret being locked at a certain angle

SPAA is effective in high tier battles especially top tier, but when it comes to low and mid tier they are simply wasting a slot if someones space bombing the spaa person is simply sitting inside the base for the whole battle without assisting anyone.

i disagree my 4.7 spaa gets me 8 kills a game with one of those bein a tank i use the m19
