Press "A" or "D" on your keyboard.

Drive for a few minutes to an edge of the map.

Snipe.

It's that easy!
Use your binoculars and watch some youtube tutorials

Pay money.
Don't go first, always check surroundings, learn weakspots
Just learn the sight-lines where the noobs drive from the spawn to the cap. Get there and just camp. If you wanna brawl play the other tank game.
Flank. Avoid the objectives and just hunt the players trying to do them.

If you're being shot at, you're doing it wrong. At least for tanks.

Pay close attention to where your teammates go each map. Watch their patterns and what happens early game. When you play the opposite spawn on that map in the future, you know now where the enemy is likely to be going as most players will do the same thing every game. Now just try to rush to a spot to counter that path. That's it. That's tank RB in a nutshell. I've had games where I go 25-0 and never even had a main shell fired at me, let alone get hit by anything. You only ever want to face a tank head-on as a last result. Otherwise, every time you see an enemy, it should be from the side or rear. This is why there's a light tank meta. Armor doesn't matter, positioning does and light tanks get in position better/faster.
like anything else, the more you play the more you see what does and doesnt work. unless you are just dumb as a rock, you will learn as you go. i started as a complete idiot driving the 2s38 into my death over and over and now i have a 3 kd in the t90a (which people think is a bad tank lmao) with 700 hours in the game, not bad for a noob
you can do it původně napsal:

This too. Every single time you die, ask yourself what you might've done differently to change the outcome. Could you have angled better? Taken a different position? Tried to take the unstabilised shot instead of waiting for the tank to be stable? Tried a reversal and peeked a different side? Shot a smoke shell near the enemy to block vision so you could retreat? There's always something you could have done different. Always. For every death. Study those possibilities and you'll naturally start to implement them without even knowing it. Some will work, some won't. You'll never get better by doing the same thing you've been doing, you have to change. Sometimes you'll change for the worse, sometimes for the better. In the long term, the better will stick and you'll find yourself a better player before you know it.

It always takes time though. There's no "git gud" quick schemes.

Hey! Learning the game and especially maps can take some time. Assuming you're playing ground battles, I recommend using your binoculars (default key: "B") to look around the area for tanks coming. Get into a position to do this, flank and have patience.

It's a learning curve and we all experienced it, so don't feel too disheartened if it continues to happen. With experience you'll become better.

don´t play high tier it´s silly
Map knowledge in Ground Battles is super important. Knowing where bad areas are, where the most common flank positions are, and maintaining situational awareness are the most important things to build up as you're learning to improve on fundamentally playing the game.

One of the most important things to keep in mind is that your tank is not a "tank." You are fighting against vehicles that can defeat your armor so you need to play as if your armor is worthless (most of the time, it is). Your goal should always be to avoid getting hit as much as possible and position yourself accordingly. Once you start building that habit, you can then venture into more aggressive game play as you'll start learning when the best times to be aggressive is vs. being more conservative.

Most importantly, death is a learning experience. You died because you were killable. That may seem like a "No Duh" thought, but you should take a moment to actually think about why you just died. Was it because you chose to move to an unfavorable position at a bad time? Bad Situational Awareness (map knowledge, tunnel vision, map control etc. all play a factor in this)? Didn't know how to properly engage the vehicle you got killed by?

Sometimes, you die just because that was the roll of the dice, but there's always something you can learn from it.

War Thunder's learning curve is very steep and there isn't quite a "catch all" guide on how to be successful. Focus on building the suggested fundamentals first, you'll start seeing incremental improvements as you go along.

This too. The game doesn’t necessarily get better the higher you go and you shouldn’t be in a rush to advance. Take your time. Don’t just equip every new vehicle the moment you unlock it. Take your time and learn to enjoy the vehicles you have. Create preset lineups you can go back to just for fun and let progression happen naturally in the background.

The game takes time to learn and every BR plays a bit different than the last. You have to learn each BR just as much as learning each vehicle.

I’d recommend picking a vehicle you really like and playing just that one vehicle for a long while before moving on. Really master it. That’s what I’ve been doing with the M24 Chaffee in the Japanese tree. If not one vehicle, at least play a single BR for a long time. Master it so you can always come back. It also helps you learn things like maps and positioning if you’re not also trying to learn new guns, armor profiles and BRs all at the same time. The more familiar you are with what you’re using, the more you can focus on learning other aspects of the game.
