Best way to kill helicopters?

One of the upcoming challenges for the Battle Pass this month is killing 5 helicopters. I don't play a lot of ground anymore and have really avoided playing high tier ground, so I've never really gotten to the point of having 8.7 BR aircraft in the air. So, I'm close enough to getting some 8.0 and 9.0 ground vehicles (anti-air).

My question is, what's the best way to plan to get these kills of helicopters? Do they show up at all in arcade? In realistic, would it work just to pick an AA vehicle and play it and some backups until I get the chopper kills? Do they show up often enough to do that?

Any advice on the best way to accomplish this for someone who rarely plays ground would be appreciated.

Helicopter battles is PvE against ground units and ai planes so that won't work for you

Easiest way to kill a helicopter is to camp their helipad, either with a plane or your own helicopter

There are several possibilities, it depends on how you play BR. At higher BRs, around 11.0, players often make a kamikaze attack immediately at the beginning of the game in an attempt to cause at least one destruction. This means you can use AA, or some vehicle with an autocannon, proxy ammo and destroy them. It also happens in simulator battles. Another option is e.g. use OP AA like StrelaAA, Pancir, depends on which BR you play. Also calling autocannon vehicles in battles that have anti-aircraft ammunition, etc. so that you are always ready to destroy helicopters, which is more difficult in MBT tanks. Of course, the most universal option is airplanes. Fly to the heliport, explore the usual places behind the hills where helicopters like to hide and camp and wait. The bigger the BR, the more helicopters, of course.

BTW, he doesn't need a high BR plane against helicopters, paradoxically, with planes like Spitfire, Bearcat, etc. helicopters are even easier to destroy because you have better maneuverability due to lower speed and much more charges than with planes in higher BR

I have nothing near 11BR. I think I have 8.0BR vehicles (SPAAs) in both Russia and the US. I have plenty of high tier aircraft, but your point re: using spitfires is not lost on me. I usually have at least one spitty equipped even when playing jets as that maneuverability is very useful in domination missions.

So it is ideal to play Russia in your case. It has many autocannon machines such as BMP, ZSU, etc. It is important to deploy the highest possible BR and play and play, otherwise it probably won't work. The amount of destruction is not large, so it shouldn't be that difficult. That's why it's good to have at least one nation on a higher BR thanks to missions in the Battle Pass and the like. And sometimes that doesn't even help. :) I spent the Battle Pass having the same problem where I had to destroy ships that I didn't have to explore at all.

There's a BR bracket in AB that will have Helis instead of planes for airstrike, that should be the easiest way to get the the achiviement and since its AB all air vehicles have leading indicators i just don't remember which BR exactly

Anything with proxy fuses, GLATGMS or SACLOS SAMs, NEVER use IR sams against choppers

To deal with choppers in RB, I personally prefers using biplanes (yep, those BR 1.0 planes u got for free). Since they are small, they are not easy to get hit from the AI Anti-air unless u are being targeted by enemy's SPAA, and they are slow enough to take an easy aim while still agile enough to out-maneuver those helis easily. It is basically a free god mode when u are able to approach a heli with one of those. Just remember to flank them instead of flying right above the battlefield.

But the most important factor is still that it is just so satisfying watching those ATGM heli campers screaming and rage quit while being shot down by a little plane older than his grandfather.

There are helicopters in ground AB, the higher BR you go the more often you will encounter them, with a minimum BR around BR 8ish I think, they also tend to spawn quite far out for some spaa.

I think the fastest way in AB might be to just spawn an interceptor heli yourself, usually you spawn quite close to the attacking one and it's faster to take them out than sitting in an spaa waiting to get him close enough and have a teammate take him out...

Edit : I don't play much high tier ground, I'm really bad with helis and barely ever play them, but even I manage to intercept helis with a heli.
