T72 AV or T-80U-E1 for lineup?
I want to play with the Squad light vehicle, and Tunguska, which one could be better as a lineup?

T-80U-E1 will have kontakt 5 ERA, and it should be the faster tank between the two.

Sorry but whats kontakt 5?
Also in some videos I saw that the E1 doesnt have thermals, is that correct?

Kontakt 5 ERA (what is on the T-80U-E1) is better than kontakt 1 (which is what the T-72AV uses). It protects against both HEAT and KE projectiles whereas kontakt 1 only really protects against HEAT. The T-80U-E1 will get gen 2 thermals as stated in the devblog. Both the T-72AV and T-80U-E1 will have gen 2 thermals, but the T-72 will also have gen 2 thermals for its CITV. Overall, I would chose the T-80U-E1 but it's up to you.

You should also be mindful that the T-80U-E1 will probably be a higher BR than the T-72AV aswell, but we won't know its true BR until the patch arrives

Yes, Im aware of that but at the same time, the Tunguska is alredy 10.7 so I will be facing 11.7 one way or another sadly

Thanks for the explanation

The T-80U-E1 is 11.3 on dev currently, same as the T-80U. I'd expect it to stay around this BR as it looks pretty much identical to the T-80U minus an IR spotlamp afaik.

Yes, you are right, I was saying in another comment that at 11.3, the T-80UE-1 will very likely be uptiered to 11.7 very often. So, this is a dilemma in that sense. However, since you are already going to be at 10.7, you will also likely be uptiered anyway.

The T-72AV TURMS which I had played a fair bit has a poor reverse speed and is not as agile as the T-80s which are a lot more playable. :mortis:

Not too familiar with these different version of ERAs protection, how's the one on the Moderna compare to kontakt 5?
I think moderna is kontakt 1. Any soviet ERA that look like bricks is 1.
