USA or RUSSIA FOR AIR AND GROUND? WHICH ONE?

Hey yall let me get straight to it. I would like to fully complete 1 Nation and im deciding between USA and Russia. Im up to 9.0 USA and 8.0 Russia in both air and ground. I love them both but i mainly like to play Ground RB but with a little CAS thrown in there. Which nation should i choose? I love both their play styles. My goal is top tier.

Russia, without a doubt. Not only will you have better tanks, you also have air superiority most of the time thanks to russian AA overperforming / NATO stuff not having it's full potential

That's kinda up to you. Soviets definitely have the better curve when it comes to ground, but US has a great air compliment to mix with their ground units, which aren't the best that're available, but are good enough.

Soviets are just simply easier to use due to their very straightforward gameplay when we're talking about tanks. With US vehicles, needs a bit more nuanced application to be highly successful.

Russia for sure, U.S vehicles are straight up trash in this game.

For Airplanes, Russia gets better IR missile (R73 > Aim9M) and Radar missile (R27ER > Aim7M)

For Tanks, the T80 is the abrams but better, same top speed but better front, side, and top armor. Abrams has a better APFSDS but is that important when war thunder matches devolve into a head on slug fest where you're shooting each other at only 200 meters?

The weakspot on the Abrams (Turret Ring) is massive 1 hit kill spot and everybody you face knows that, its GGs once somebody looks your general direction if you're in an Abrams.

Straight answer to your question:
If you want to play a tank by pressing W and hope for the best, USSR will be your choice.
If however you would like to play smart and use your brain it's either US or Germany.
And I do not intend to tell you that soviet tanks are better in any shape or form, I'm just saying that there is nothing else to do when your tank neither has reverse speed nor gun depression but to press W and hope for the best. That soviet top tier in a nutshell for you.

Air is same for both imo, though I like US planes more personally.

both are mid now for top tier ground, sweden and germany just stomping everyone. If I had to choose of the 2 it would be ussr bc US players seem to quit after 1 death if they don't get enough points to spawn their planes. As for air battles, you can't go wrong with either, they are both strong.

Go USSR. My WT life has been getting better since I started grinding USSR ground.

Is that really so obvious in the game? What's the point? If the situation was not serious as it is, polish pilots (who have experience with both) would collectively die laughing.

USSR, the grind is faster, the vehicle options are better and your finished nation top tier lineups will beat out USA easily. I have all 3 of the big nations ground out to top tier and USSR is by far the strongest, I really like the leo PL and the Abrams AIM but the T-80BVM just slaps them out of the water. The Ka's are very nice, the MI's are even better though the KA-50 is the best choice due to the premium modifier so if you have or want that instead of the tech tree KA-52 or the MI's, go for it as all of them are perfectly fine heli's. (The Apache is about on par with russia's offerings, germany is the problem nation for heli's as the heli tree is god awful unless you like doing stunts, until you get the Tiger... that heli can win a match in about 40 seconds if flown by a competent player and heavily impact the match if flown by an idiot so long as they don't crash or get straffed by heli pad campers). As far as air goes, your missiles are better, your planes are great and your ground pounding options are about as good as USA, I would say USA's guided bombs seem more consistent vs USSR's guided munitions but otherwise you could go either way for playing CAS, (germany is just pure trash and copy and paste from ~9.0 upwards so you aren't missing out, I love the Mig 23 and Tornado and fly them often but there is zero, I repeat ZERO reason anyone moderately sane would legitimately want to fly those in an 11.7 ground lineup). Also bare in mind that your CAS drone (the Orion I believe vs the MQ-1 everybody else gets stuck with) is better than USA's and your SPAA will be the best in the match, the pantsir is absolutely insane if you can play SPAA and even if you can't, unlike most other SPAA's it's very easy to get used to and use and it is a hybrid cannon and missile SPAA (similar to the ADATS which is cannon and AA/ATGM) so you are able to protect yourself and deal with threats at close and extremely long range with equal levels of effectiveness which is great.

Your premiums are also better than those of USA aside from the click bait which USSR doesn't have a competing vehicle to compare against.

All around, USSR is the safer choice just make sure when starting out the MBT grind you go down the T-80 route first and then the T-72 route, it'll save you some headache's with the T-72's awful mobility and allow you to have a better tank for your first spawn and then a less mobile and slightly worse back up tank. And until gaijin fixes it, the T-64A's turret cheeks are comparable to the Leo 2PL with great cheeks but a weak mantlet, which means the enemy is screwed if you are hull down and they can't quite hit your breach, so if the opportunity presents itself, use the T-64A as a sniper on maps that allow for it. Only works on darts though, 500mm+ pen HEAT will start to get through it easily and while 500 or 590mm pen darts will start to get through sometimes they don't produce much spall so you will only lose one crew member (and you don't see 500+mm pen darts very often at 9.3). Additionally, remember that while your tanks are good, your auto loaders can let you down, it is best to breach or barrel a target before trying to kill them unless you can guarantee that you can one shot the target, otherwise you'll get out reloaded and put on the back foot during the fight which you REALLY do not want to happen in a T-72, T-80's will find it annoying but 72's need that momentum to keep going and keep the ball rolling, if they get placed on the back foot they will quickly find themselves turned into a pile of scrap because they can't escape the situation they are in.

Not really, US and Germany players always had a competition to see who is the absolute worst at the game, after the last aditions US has the upper hand in that competition... So.. Yeah

T80's can be one shotted easily by Challenger 2's, considered by a lot of people "bad" tanks :)

The Hard truth is that germany doesnt have good jets, and the few good ones are actually east german / soviet and better versions of them are in the russian tree as well russia also specialices in CAS you have a wide variety to choose from Su-25 to MiG-27 pick your poison germany doesnt have actual CAS besides the Tornado i guess but theres a higher chance you get destroyed before you deliver any payload.

As for ground this is a difficult question germanys leopards are undoubtly quite OP with the best round in the game beating any other tanks round but this goes only for the MBT. Russia is more versatile they have multiple MBTs to choose T-90,T72,T-80 from and the armor is very good multiple IFVs with alot of useful weapons and strong missiles, SPGs with dual purpose mechanics to take out helicopters and slow planes... very good anti air vehicles Strela,Pantsir,Tunguska(hopefully BUK,TOR & Strela10M4 in the future) and definitely better helicopters, im not sure why anyone would like to play germany if you can have all the fun in the other trees, i gave you the perfect results for germany since they are halfway usable i know you wanted them for USA but they are awful and dont make it into any competition at all.
