dumb
JUST FOUND OUT YOU CANT ACTUALLY TEST FLY THE BOMBER PLANES.. flying sure. bombing no. thats stupid how it spawns me on the water, it will take me a solid 20 minutes to get to an altitude of 1800ft. worse part is how it doesnt give you the option to bomb targets.. the tutorial for bombing is crap, ive tried it.. you can completely miss the air field and it will still show the cutscene of you "bombing airfield" what a joke. very mad. fix it so i can bomb targets in the "test flight mode" tanks have enemy tanks when "testing" did you forget the lack of brain power or what happened?

I really don't see a problem here... bombing bases is the exact same loop through the whole game, if you've bombed one you've bombed them all.

Need to know how many of any specific bomb to use at any specific BR?
https://wiki.warthunder.com/Enduring_Confrontation
Here is a handy little page wherein there's an expandable table towards the bottom where you can check *MOST* bombs in the game and the required amount per base by BR.

you cant see the problem because you obviously dont play enough. i said what i said, all makes perfect sense too, i just called Gaijin out of the terrible tutorial for bombing.

The tutorial gives a good representation of the terrible gameplay for bomb planes. Apart from the getting ripped apart by swarms of fighters I guess.

Step 1. Select Test Flight with the Vehicle you want to use

Step 2. In the bottom left hand corner of the Test Flight menu, select Mission Editor

Step 3. Proceed to set mission settings to your heart's content

Step 4. Practice landing bombs on Destroyers (if you can hit a Destroyer with bombs from a strategic bomber, you can hit anything)

i just did that and it so is terrible. it doesnt tell you if you destroyed the targets lmaooo how do you know if you hit your target if it doesnt tell you. they make things so complicated when they really dont need to.

I've never tried doing that in test flight, but you can just hold your bomb button and follow the bomb to the target.
mogami_99 Jan 29, 2024 @ 9:33am
for me "U" follows the bomb down
It does not tell you if you miss. If you don't get a hit message you missed.
Make sure you are using the "floating" aiming circle. The stationary one in the middle is your position over the land the floating one is where the bombs will land. Very rare to have them over lapping.

The title is ironic considering this is entirely the player not understanding how to hit space bar when their bomb reticle is over a target…

The difficult thing about bombers is surviving being intercepted, the bombing part is about the easiest thing you can do in warthunder

Don’t even remember doing a tutorial when I started, if it even existed back then I don’t remember, first I remember using a bomber was using a Catalina in an actual match

bruh get out of arcade mode, wheres the challenge that lmao. newbie. oh yeah, lets be spotted and placed on the map so all the enemy's can see my exact coordinates AND plane im flying lololol; "back then" lmaoo. im trying to prepare my bomber plane to fight against tanks in realistic mode BUT, their isnt any where i can ACTUALLY practice in my bomber on hitting targets. the bombing sight glass is very confusing and im AMAZED THEY SKIPPED OVER THIS, am i following the "t" or the little cursor?? either way il never know because i cant practice.

Of course I must be an arcade player if I find this easy, couldn’t possibly be a sim player, pressing space bar when my crosshair is over a point on the ground in sim is wildly more difficult than it is in arcade after all

Take a bomber out and learn the ‘hard’ way mate, looking through a bomb sight and pressing space bar at the right time is about the easiest gameplay I can think of in warthunder. Can’t see why you would possibly need ‘practice’ after you know the controls, you lose nothing playing those early vehicles

Just wait until you try an actually advanced technique, doubt there are tutorials on toss bombing, skip bombing or even proper dive bomb procedures. You try, you fail, you keep trying. I actually advise sim as the best place for it because you have a 100 square km map with multiple airfields and respawning ground targets to practice on for a 3 hour match

I assure you pal, I've played enough of this game to know you don't need it to hold your hand as much as you want it too.

You're a big boy now, you can figure things out on your own.

Why do you need to get to 1800ft to test bombing? all you could need to do that for is flight performance tests, not for actually dropping bombs, however, I do agree it'd be nice to select starting alt.

While I totally agree it's ♥♥♥♥.
It's also that easy because it's very simple to understand when the X of the bomb sight is over target, drop bomb, very easy concept to understand, if you struggled with this that's an indictment on you not the game.

The tank test drive has tanks because the way a tank shell interacts with the target tanks varies wildly depending on the tank that fired the shell, the tank being hit by the shell and the shell itself... a bomb hitting a base either blows up the base... or damages the base over time... and then blows it up

Ironic you keep calling other people newbie…

Don’t have a bomb target? There are bases in rb to bomb so not sure what you mean, have you even played or are you still ‘practicing’ pressing spacebar…

nothings ironic about having smarts, genius. pay attention and learn logic HAHA. ive mentioned the issues and the majority of you must skip over what was said previously because your fighting something that has already been mentioned. yall are talking about arcade mode bombing, duh! thats easy, how baout learning how the sight works, wheres my tutorial for that? wheres the target range for bombers? tanks, helicopters, and boats all have them, heck, even fighter planes.
