Best country to start with (tanks and airplanes)?

I'm a newbie so I don't know which country to start.

China can work for tanks as well since it combines alot of USSR vehicles with US vehicles.

for beginner tanks stay away from British,French and Japanese for now.

Brits dont have Explosive fillers in their shells meaning you somewhat need to know where to shoot.
French Tanks with a VERY low Power to weight ration which makes them REALLY slow...
Japanese have weak armor and Low penetration shells.

I started with Sweden, and it was *really* painful. But once you twig how to play it's fine. But until you figure that out, you are going to die with 0-1 kills in every match.
Sooo.. Unless you have patience and do not mind dying a few hundred times before you get into it, avoid Sweden.

germany will be the best. with other nations you have a lot more armour and end up leaning on it far too much, with germany you have good guns but bad armour, teaches you to be smarter about where you go

Sweden has a cool APDS which has INSANE penetration for rank 1-2 if you know where to aim you can take tanks out very well.
Sadly once the other nations catch up, you are Toast ... Swedes have TINY amount of armor and the PvKv line has a BIG zoom which is often overkill in citymaps.

Yeah, Sweden can oneshot anything in pretty much any tier, if you know where to aim. And when you're new, you don't. And if you don't kill on the first shot, you are dead until you get the Strv 81 and up. They don't die from loud farts. And in endgame, you're as durable as everyone else.
But I like playing Sweden, mostly for all the derpy ♥♥♥♥ there is. And there is even more derpy tonks that Sweden fiddled with than are in game. Even late cold war ones.

But unless you have a high frustration tolerance, it's not the best for new players.

Everyone keeps saying Germany, but neglecting to mention that German low tier GRB teams are by far the most timid teammates I consistently see. All they ever do is camp, hide and never push control points or map choke points.

I enjoy the PZIV's and Tiger tanks, and love the 109 in GRB, but the teams I always get paired with are at best, frustrating.

If you start with the USSR, every other nation will feel harder afterwards.
If you start with the Germans, every team without them will feel absolutely different. Especially early BRs. You'd better know how to carry if you want to play Germany, so I don't think it's agreat starter nation.
USA is pretty balanced, but the lack of pintle-mounted machineguns on most other nations will sting, because you'll often be using them to deter/destroy enemy airplanes.
You could start with the British. They're very-powerful and balanced nation, albeit being somehow hard to play, you'll learn the weakspots of every tank really quickly due to their ammunition not using explosives most of the time.

In my opinion, the best starters for a newbie are British and USA.

If he starts with the Brits hes going to uninstall teh game the next day. Their lack of anything besides solid shot ammunition will ensure a new player gets consistent 0 kill games. Sure their vehicles can be good but they are definitly not something for beginners.

As far as beginner friendly nations go: as others said already, go for the big 3. America with the best air support and a tank for every role, germany with bad armor but the best guns or russia with weaker guns then the other 2 but strong armor.

I wouldn't start with Germany to be honest, the vehicles are less forgiving than US or Russian ones and you probably will get frustrated fast. Take either US or Russia as it's easier to gain map knowledge with them.

What do you expect german players to do?
Rush in with non-existing armor, storm the cap points with under motorized engines and take out wave after wave with shells that bounce of everything that is slightly round or angled?

The game isn't really made for german tank doctrine and the resulting design

USSR or maybe Germany. Don't start with USA and definitely don't start with everyone else.
USA sucks across all tiers and will be painful and confusing.

Germany is hit or miss with strong top-tier (which you will see only after months of playing)

USSR is probably the safest choice

Definitely don't go Sweden, it is ♥♥♥♥ and ball torture. My friend picked it as his first faction and ended up buying a premium. Threads of complaints from people who started as Sweden I see here at least monthly.

Don't start as Japan or Italy either. Somewhat similar experience.

How about instead of forcing someone to become what you want them to become, you just suggest a normal way of starting this game to a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ new player who doesn't expect some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Severus Snape grabbing him by his balls, because he loves his subject too much and wants everyone to be an S+ potion maker
