When brits came out, soviets start to cry that they are op, the guys who didn't even play as brits or germans even dont closly know, what is a pain to play vs t34-85, t44 and others
Their sloping armor is unreal mess, and devs must do something about this.

its 0.4 BR less than a Panther D and superior in most way. to say nothing of the poor Panthers A, F and G :P
In reality it wasn't that OP as it's portrayed in the game. Sure the calibers are large but they had huge problems with low velocity and inaccuracy throughout the war.
Another thing is that since we all know the T34-85 uses sloped armor, IF a projectile penetrates its far more likely that it causes catastrophic damage with the fuel and ammo stored inside such a small space (check for images yourself, it's VERY small - another reason for the long reload times of the russian tanks).
But of course, reality vs a arcade game like this is very different since Gaijin doesn't accept valid sources like the panther manual for the german crewmembers - but themself keep sekrit dokuments as proof.
I play all faction tanks, so I advise you to test Brits vs Soviets on 5.3 and you will understand what I am talking about.
Even if we are taking its sloping armor, APDS has like 200mm penetration, where T34-85 on this place has max 90.
And again try playing Brits on 5.3
