Stat Cards and Climb-Rates (RB)
According to the stat cards, the MC202 has a 25m/s climb-rate (when spaded), so why do I always find aircraft which statisically have lower climb-rates (around 15m/s) higher than me even after I've side-climbed?

Are stat cards completely irrelevant or am I missing something?

yea dont read stat cards

The stat cards are effected by your skill levels. So if you look at the stat card on your tree of a given plane, it's going to show the default total value. If you buy it, it will drop down quite a bit because your crew isn't trained and you don't have all the modules researched. Once you get a crew trained for it and start researching the modules, you'll see the stat card changing little by little back to that default value.

That doesn't explain why planes with statistically inferior climb-rates are outclimbing me.

Because you may not be seeing the actual climb rates based on the crew skill level he's running vs what you're running. You also may be climbing incorrectly. A great many people make the mistake of climbing at a very steep angle, and that results in them climbing at only 140mph while the other climbs at a correct angle doing 190.

You'll lose out every time doing that as well.

I always climb at 17-20 degrees, and side-climb. I average about 250KMH in that climb. Yet somehow, Hurricanes and I-16s (aircraft with 15m/s climb-rates) get above me with ease. Even if crew level does affect the climb-rate, I should still be beating them out (unless crew level grants them 10 more meters a second, which I highly doubt).

That's too high an angle. 16 is the max.

250 kph is only 155 mph...which is exactly the problem you have.

I vary my angle of climb depending on the aircraft I am flying and I work out a specific angle where sufficient airspeed is maintained in test flight, unless I am in my jets which zoom climbing is the best option.
Most props I use vary around 15 - 23 deg, but some heavier aircraft require 12deg maximum.

If you're in a fighter, and you're climbing speed is less than 170 mph (273 kph) then your angle is too steep. End of story.

I thought 20 degrees was the best climbing angle? Whatever. I'll try 15 degrees when I fly my 202 out next time.

I can usually get above everything at a 17-20 degree climb anyway, but Hurricanes and I-16s, if they have any sense, will get above me every now and then. At-least I can outrun them. Well, everything but the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ LaGG.

No idea what you are talking about tbh. The 202 climbs like a rocket, it can easily get to 6km before any other plane. Sadly the wonky guns and slow dive speed make it a bit ineffectual at BnZ.

seems to rely on energy and engine power, my FW can climb higher and fast than my 109 thats maxed and the FW is new

It does climb amazingly yes, but as I said, I'm surprised to see Hurricanes right up there with me as soon as I turn in to the fight. I'm not complaining, I'm just curious about it.

Hoping for the day when the guns no longer fire spaghetti, or the 205 is added.

i managed to kill a B-25 a SB(whatever)m a Dooner 17j2 a wellington a FW-190A1 and a KI-45 in one life once, with about 5.7 million spent shells, seriously it took 2 reloads for the B-25 and 3 for the J2
