Whats the point of the Do 217 N-2?

Can't climb for ♥♥♥♥, slow and cumbersome, and can easily be outmanuevered and peppered with holes by the fighters in its tier.

Yeah I know its an anti bomber night fighter (which is what I try to use it for) except it can't climb for ♥♥♥♥ and a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ B25 last round survived the 20mm barrage, put out his fuel fire and then outdistanced me all the way throughout the match.

to which? the B25 or my Do 217 N2? How am I supposed to get upgrades if the damned thing can't survive even one air engagement due to me getting intercepted and blown to ♥♥♥♥.

You might find Arcade pretty good for getting those modifications, since everyone goes for head-ons which is proably the one thing the 217 excels at. Tbh though, it's still pretty bad even with upgrades. I do like the bomber variants though, they work great in Tank RB (well they did before the assault fuse was added)

ehhh thats the problem, im in arcade and it falls apart in fights, enemies almost never do head ons, and when they do its usually some heavy fighter that kills my pilot. Although the shotgun spread of the 20mm is pretty good.

The only time i fly arcade if I'm using fighters to grind RP. So i don't know to much about combat in arcade except that it is normally a S*** fight.

The problem is its not a dog figher and it seems like your treating it like one. Your best bet is to stay out of the main scrum and look for lone targets or targets not paying attention. If you can't find any of those take out ground targets like AA guns, artillery and other light armored targets

im not trying to dog fight, since the Do 217 N-2 is a night time bomber destroyer I try to climb up and spot and pickoff bombers. Only problem is the damned fighters climb up and outmanuver me, then kill me. I can't do the damned thing this plane is intended for.
