There are research penalties to non premium vehicles researching more than 1 rank apart.
https://wiki.warthunder.com/Research_Points#Multipliers
Why? What's the logic behind this besides implementing artificial barriers to generate further incentives to pay money?
Exactly. Welcome to war Thunder. Gaijin cares only about money, first and formost. If not only for about money.
The real question is how did you get to Rank 8 and never learn how the RP mechanics work?
Last time I check they didn't work like this.
My thoughts aswell.
This has nothing to do with encouragement to play xyz, it's literally forcing you to do that. Cause if you don't you'll get a minimum portion of reward for playing a whole hour. That's like saying: Oh you want to go from A-B by car? Well ye you can but it costs you a massive fee if you don't go there by train. So you're "forecully incentivized"...
And who would rush down down a single branch? Why would you do that? Like this, I'm forced to play a lower tier in order to research a lower tier vehicle, even though I'm already much higher. Which happens when the just insert new vehicles into branches. Why lower the reward instead of removing it completely to be clear about the intention?
