Should Gaijin Charge Monthly?
Think of it like a subscription. It comes with no downsides too, certain individuals would stop violating game rules if they knew all of their progress going to be erased having tons of money spent just to receive a permanent ban (intentional teamkilling, using offensive language in-chat, griefing, cheating, botting and putting hateful symbols on their vehicles and such) , this will discourage most bad actors from behaving this way, and who wants to continue to play would have to be reasonable with what they say and do so they don't get a temp ban because it's just some money, if not all in some cases, is down the drain and nobody wants that.

I'm thinking between like 14.99$ for populated wealthy states in US and downplayed to 7.44$ in some other countries or poor lands of liberty, might be even lower.

Its a F2P game for a reason. It gives access to more people to play, and possibly spend money when they have enough. SUbscriptions to me are the dumbest things in existance. Now I could see having to buy the game, but with extra perks type of situation. But you always end up paying more for a subscription, than anything free, or just buying it out right.

Whats next, lets add ads into warthunder and only premium, might get rid of them?

For this to work, Gaijin's moderation would have to actually do something

Most obvious reason is that it's not an MMO game.

Not only War Thunder is a Massively Multiplayer Online game, War Thunder already has a functional subscription system, too. I fail to see your point.

I never see cheaters in this game and sure there's the odd person who isnt the most friendly but not something that needs to be adressed with something over the top like a subscription.

Most janitors do it for free. This system would allow us to bankroll in-game moderation to actually utilize their responsibilities.

No. It already takes away a lot of people's time to just grind it out. Now you want to add another layer of paywall on an already time consuming game that your only way is to either play lengthy hours or pay even more?

Frankly speaking, game even ain't worth it if they start charging monthly for it with the amount of effort it needs. Grow a backbone if griefing is just the main concern. Especially with the prices you've suggested. But if Gaijin was going out of business and shilling out like 1-3 usd a month was the price just to keep the servers running, that might be slightly more tempting.

But as they say, give them an inch, and they'll take a mile. They already make tons of money with the amounts of things you can/have to buy ingame. No need to add more.

And lastly, that suggestion's a nail in the coffin to the tons of f2p players that sometimes put in money in the game. A subscription based game isn't probably sustainable or appealing to the general f2p player.

EDIT: If griefing was also the main issue, I fail to see why we have to pay more money to Gaijin if they just did their job properly on a game that pays them already.

Just because cheaters are rare, does not mean they do not exist. It is still against the rules to cheat, and when you actively pay for a game, why risk losing your money by daring to catch a permanent ban?

I do, its a discussion worthy proposal and I fail to see why it could not be implemented across multiple games?

Because the idea is a bad one.

Devil's Advocate, but grinding out Lions and RP only exists BECAUSE the game is F2P. Buying Lions and Research Boosts are how F2P games make a good chunk of their money.

A subscription model would get rid of that aspect (although level-grinding would still be real).

These progression obsessed fanatics just do not get it. I would gladly pay 14 USD a month if it granted access to Tomcats and Abrams.

While what you are talking about slightly derails my thread, a subscription based model which replaces SL and RP economy would be tolerable. I would much rather play top tier with adults who can easily drop 14 USD a month rather than teens and neets who grinded out entire trees by being able to play the game like a full time job.
