17lb MK.8 shot can't pen kv1's
every single time i've encountered a kv1 in the concept 3, i've shot it, either a bounce or non pen
what kind of bs is this when the 17lb could destroy tigers easy

just hit the weak spots its not that hard
Oh god yet another one of the 'It could destroy Tigers super duper easy' as though the Tiger doesn't have thin ass basically flat armor.

i've been playing since 2018, think i don't know where the weak spots on a kv series are?

thing is, the gun just doesnt pen at all, you would have to face the kv frontally to pen, if you have the slightest of angles it's just not going through, same thing with the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ gas tanks in soviet tanks

Ive had a lot of frustrating moments like this where i wonder why im the same br something i CANNOT pen, but then I took the time to find weak spots using the armor analysis tool. Go to KV-1 in russian tree, and use preview. Go to the armor tab, and use threat analysis. Set threat to conxept-3's main shell, set distance to something reasonable. Itll project a glow on to whatever side youre facing of where you can pen. I did this and started smoking everything even with american peashooters (as long as I could remember where to shoot lol)

Blame it on Volumetric shells. Just shot a STUH in the side with Mk.8, and it did nothing. It penned, flew past the head of one of the crew members, and only turned the breach yellow lmao... Gotta love this game sometimes...

im just saying that its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the 17lb nonpens the kv1 a lot of the time

Just because you've done something a lot, doesn't mean you know how to do it correctly.

Plenty of people with thousands of hours still don't know or understand many parts of the game.

To say the gun can't pen a Kv-1 is just factually wrong, and people offering you advice are right to do so; otherwise, what was the point of your topic?

wikipedia says QF 17pdr AP penetrates 200mm of armor at 100m, the kv's i encountered and non penned were at sub 50m ranges, unangled.
my point is they should fix their game.
really expect me to not say anything about kv1's deflecting 17pdr ap shells like nothing when it turned tigers and panthers into dust

Small correction though, the concept 3 doesnt use a 17 pounder gun, it uses a 77mm HV gun (with lower velocity than a 17 pounder lol), it does use 76.2mm shells but its pen is different

Personally i never had that problem with KV-1 deflecting a 17-pounder or a 77mm gun but its probably just volumetric screwing up as always

Go into analysis mode and figure out where the black holes are, because you can generally pen the top and bottom front plates, as well as the turret cheeks. As for the aforementioned "black holes", this is what I found from testing:

Between the turret and the hull, hitting the turret ring is not optimal, since scraping the top of the hull or the bottom of the turret makes the shell disappear lol. Straight on, a few pixels is the difference between successful penetration, and the equivalent of 1500mm, which makes zero sense since the shell would still ricochet into the turret ring, but it literally just disappears, even in the analysis mode lol.

There's also a black hole at the very top of the drivers viewing port. 1 pixel too high and it has 400mm+ of equivalent protection lol.
