It's almost offensive seeing german main complain about not being the center of the attention FOR ONCE

i am a german main but i dont seek attention its that when some countries get something its nice that other countries get something too with the same quality i can give you many example they add and move tanks and airplanes in this game and make it soo unbalanced so one faction or 2 or 3 can dominate everything

IDK what to tell you dude, you literally get the best MiG-29 in the game at the expense of everyone who plays top USSR air and will be receiving a pretty rad Tornado test platform because that's about it for what y'all can get. There's the F4-F ICE, which is literally just the same old ♥♥♥♥ but it can carry AMRAAMs (it'd get outshined HARD by the F-16, F-15, F-14, MiG-29, and Su-27). After that, the only plane the German tech tree can get at top tier is the Eurofighter Typhoon, which is a catastrophically powerful beast that can go toe-to-toe with and beat just about anything in a dogfight. It is quite literally the pinnacle of the Eurocanard Deltas and it is on even ground with or objectively superior to every 4th and 4.5th gen fighter in the world, with seemingly only the F-22 and F-35 being able to beat them reliably due to the former's maneuverability and the latter's sensor suite.

like Shipdesignerdude said, Germany doesn't have much options left. Historically the luft-waffe relied on the F4 phantoms while waiting on the Tornado and Typhoon programs which back then were known as the MRCA and ECF. The Tornado ended up as a strike fighter (IDS) and recon (ECR) NONE of which are air-superiority fighters. That role was filed by the far later EF Typhoon.

At that era of the cold war, Germany was relegated as a support air-force by NATO and not front-line like the abundant USAF in their many European bases. They didn't immediately need an air superiority fighter so they held on to the phantoms for the main fighter role. The phantoms lagged behind in tech so the phantom ICE program was launched. It gave the phantom the capability of using AIM120s FOX3s which IS a huge leap in tech for war thunder. The devs said they wanted to see how 4th gen jets perform without FOX3s before adding them possible destabilising the game.

The Typhoon came later than the Flanker and Eagle. It is significantly more advanced than the new jets this upcoming update adds. The Flanker Eagle and Gripen are not that big of a leap in game because they don't get FOX3s. The German Mig-29G with R73 and R27s are absolutely capable of being competitive with these new additions. it just loses in carrying capacity to the eagle and flanker, which I can see being a slight disadvantage at most.

They just don't have anything to add at the moment. Thats why i'm not complaining about the lack of planes for germany. Heck I'd hate to see teams full of braindead wallet warrior premium tornadoes. I think the addition to germany top tier air is a terrible idea this update.

Most likely scenario is they use the F4F ICE to test the waters. Giving the AIM120 to the obsolete F4F airframe vs 4th gen air-superiority fighters seems like a good balancing act.

Note: I'm a german main with 7K+ hrs. I play top tier with the German Mig-29.

Since USA gets F-15, soviets get Su-27, Germany, Italy and UK should get Eurofighter Typhoon, right? Grippen for Sweden when? Oh, and France should get Rafale! That would be awesome. But, you know, it is a game about soviet domination over the world, so do not hold your breath ;)

The Su-27 and F-15 add absolutely nothing to the game loadout wise. All they do is just expand on what's currently available; the F-15 can carry two more Sparrows than the F-16C, and the Su-27 4 more R-27s than the MiG-29SMT. The MiG-29G is very capable of competing with the new planes, granted you don't get in a dogfight (Which should never happen).

The Eurofighter would easily be the best FM in the game if added, and it's base missiles are Fox-3s or incredibly strong IR missiles. The radar alone stomps everything.

I'm kind of surprised nobody cares about the F-15J with the best A2A missile in the game; it's going to be a tough fight even for an Su-27.

That's not the case thos, a new plane is just a new plane it dosent change the balance that much

Yeah i've heard a couple US mains malding over not getting the best of their own but not as much as expected. Also I don't think the F15J is that strong. Although it is better than the regular F15, i don't think the Su-27 is going to struggle facing the F15J.

The AAM-3 although better than the 9M is comparable to the R73. Both are 40G SR IRCCM equipped missiles. Heck the Su-27 gets to carry either 4-6 of them while 4 max for the F15J.
