What is "improved repair kit"???
it used to just be repair kit and fire extinguisher ad now its "improved"? I played a game with the T32E1 which is 100% stock and both my barrel and breach were taken out. I held F and "repaired" and then had 5 "misfires" in a row. It's not improved. it literally does nothing unless you have it installed. I have had it work on my tracks and engine but apparently it doesn't effect your gun. you know, the only part that matters.

Once upon a time it was possible for the engine / transmission to break with no way to fix them leaving you stuck for the rest of the game which isnt the case now so slight improvement

Without the improved parts, you can only fix yourself to low performance. If you lose your engine, you can repair it to weak performance such that you can only move maybe 10-20% power. You can still move though. For the gun, you can repair such that you might be able to fire, maybe not. It’s better than not at all.

There was a time where you just couldn’t repair at all and just had to sit there and wait to die or get an ally to repair. Now you can get some weak functionality to try to get to an ally on your own power.

Me don’t like the rebranding. Half truths are cool man

Yeah, I've been playing for years it's just stupid that they call it "improved" when without the modification you might as well not have 90% of the time.

And indeed before that, there was a time when allies could not help repair. If you were not on a cap point, your game was over after a mobility kill

While you're not wrong, its still better than not having the "improved" version at all. Case and point, you can repair an engine and move, if only slowly, without having the parts research completed. This allows you to move to a capture point for repairs or closer to an ally to help you.

Its like the old setup where you'd get tracked and couldn't repair that without parts. Yes, that was a thing. They added the ability to repair tracks regardless of parts wasn't always a thing. You used to have arty track you and suddenly be stuck basically forever.
