Idiots (98% of the pilots you will face): will dump flares only after launch and either fly straight or do a wide banking turn, ending in their death after which they cry about the unflareable/undodgeable AiM-9M
People With At least One Brain Cell (2% of the pilots you will face): will ackowledge when you or other 9M carrying aircraft are behind them and begin slaloming while preflaring to confuse your seeker; when you fire the missile they will also turn hard one direction while flaring then switch to the opposite direction and enter a hard, rolling, descending, maximum pull turn to force the 9M to overshoot/go for flares; these individuals also laugh the people who call 9Ms/R-73s undodgeable/unflareable
External of this missiles in general randomly act wonky, like sparrows going dumb and exploding mid-air, R-27R/ERs nosediving right after launch, and 9Ms/R-73s/Magic 2s just randomly sailing off after flares, the sun, fire from crashed aircraft, or straight up just switching targets mid-air to body a completely different plane.

I wonder when people will actually cut burner when flaring, it's been like this since countermeasures were added...
This is sound advice, but putting it into practice requires you to be in a situation where you can devote 100% of your time and attention to a single plane. Which is very much not how top tier Air RB generally goes. The giant 12v12 low altitude furball meta doesn't seem to be going anywhere any time soon, so half my deaths to any missile, not just the IRCCM ones, are due to me only being able to look in one direction while I have missiles being fired at me from 4 others.
All IRCCM adds to that mix is that randomly popping flares mid furball in a desperate attempt to keep missiles off me does a whole lot of nothing.
We need RB EC. For this and dozens more reasons.
