I personally suspect the missile for whatever reason keeps tracking on to other players lock-on's as if it were datalinked. Cause once when i flew in my F-4J few years back my missile destroyed the wingman of my actual locked target and it wasn't even between us, well as had +3km spacing.
Most of the time it just goes after nothing seemingly.
I had a couple where back to back my missiles acted as if on a roller coaster correcting upward and downward over and over while it chased the target that was simply going straight.
There's something seriously wrong. Using them just gets me killed.
Yeah I grinded the F-15 immediately and while it's fun to fly in itself, the arms it gets suck in literally every aspect when compared to every single new jet also added.
Like you said, far more worth it to bring 9Ms, though those have also been seemingly nerfed compared to R73s which have better turning and tracking.
