BUT that being said, play what you like. Lower tiers are still quite fun to play and if you enjoy it alot go ahead and still play them.
I should probably clarify research efficiency, for normal TT vehicles, you have 100% efficiency researching anything 1 rank above and below the vehicles rank, while premiums have efficiency for all ranks below and 1 rank above.
Wrong.
And what exactly is wrong about it? Literally says it in the Game that your research effiency is only at your Rank +/-1, if you research something lower than that for example the Maus with the Leopard 2A6 you get barely any RP at all for the researched Vehicle or if you were to research the Leo 2A6 with the Tiger II Premium (or normal ones) you won't get any RP for the Vehicle either (at best a few hundred)
Only with a Top Tier Premium do you get full RP for Ranks below and since there is no much further going up in the Ranks so far you can research the whole Tree with it and thats what the Game encourages to do
Example, the Russian ships Chapayev (tech tree) and Zheleznyakov (premium), both Rank IV and looking at the stats (performance, armor, crew size) absolutely identical ships:
Chapayev researches without penalty from Rank IIi to V...
Zheleznyakov without penalty from Rank I do V, the whole stretch from bottom up.
It's the same with all premium, event premium, and package vehicles.
