Seriously, what is wrong with British tanks?

Alright, I've accepted that they don't bounce every shot fired at them while one shooting every one else like the Russian tanks. But seriously, it feels like their BR is too high in general. If every game was like it usually is playing British, I would have stopped playing WarThunder long ago.

Which tanks did you played as? I had no problem what so ever with the valentines or the archer.

British tanks are not known for armor thickness/design or having much room inide. Due to low armor and a cramped interior, they take heavy damage or are killed instantly by rounds with HE fillers. They rely on firepower and/or being able to move around very well. Even Brit tanks with thick, sloped armor are not that strong (ex. Conqueror and Chieftain). The only Brit tanks that you can count on the armor to save you from damage (in my view) are the Tortoise and Chuchill's.

My wife and I have been grinding them, we're at 4.0 currently, soon pushing to the next BR bracket, and have had little to no issues. It's all about speed and RoF (churchills withstanding).

I'm at 4.0 now. It's not like I find them completely useless, but it's not like playing the other nations. I know the armour is crap, but then I try to go for not getting hit anyway, it's mostly the gun/ammo that annoys me. I keep shooting my targets in all the right places, normally that would take one or two shots with a tank from any other nation, but with the British it's like I have no control anymore ...

Thats because it's mostly solid shot AP. It penetrates thicker armour than most APHE, but does less interally. Just aim for Engines and Gunners for your first shot, that will give you time to follow up with the second. There isn't much I can't kill with 4.0 brits in 2 shots, at most 4 (with 57mms)

Four shots are often just too many. In any case, I think a lot of people playing other nations know the British tanks in general are easy targets. I know I look at British tanks as easy targets, less likely to kill the German or Russian tank I'm using, and easy to take out with one shot.

Put one shot into the gunner of whatever tank, you reload (with a 57mm), in like 4 seconds, pick of another two crew, and the tank is dead, if it isn't, follow up your third shot into the new gunner.

Enemy is dead in 3 shots, totalling 12 seconds.

Aim for gunners and engines.

Really? The Archer sucks imo. It misses way too often. For a 17 pounder I was expecting to roflstomp other tanks but I hardly do anything other than disable or damage them.

Please! We have all had a good run in a specific tank at some point. I had a 17 kill streak in my Cromwell, doesn't mean that it's better than it's German/Russian/American counterparts at the same BR.

My problem isn't that I don't win or kill more enemy tanks than I get killed myself when playing British, my problem with the British tanks is that I don't feel the same control playing them. I feel more comfortable playing a Russian or German tank against tanks 1-2 BR higher than playing British tanks against tanks the same BR.

That's not a good run for me, thats normal so idk what you're doing wrong :\
