Which heavy machine gun actually performs better?

I can't decide, at one moment they both seem effective at destroying light vehicles, but sometimes i absolutely light up something like a pt-76 but either machine gun is not fast enough to kill it.

The 14.5mm Russian HMG is probably the best one, IIRC it can get up to 40mm pen

i think russian HMG are best then the 50cal US type guns and worse is the German mg since even top teir i think they have 1 tank the new leo2PSO has a 50cal wile all others dont.

Soviet HMGs are outstanding in my experience. They are a significant threat to lightly armored vehicles.

fun fact the 14.5 is not a HMG its a Cannon. I say the Russian 12.7 is better for killing Lightly Armored Tanks while the US 12.7 is better against Planes

well the KPV is classified as a HMG in some Country and in others as a Cannon and tbh i see it as a Cannon

The german 15mm gun on planes is considered a cannon in the game. So the 14.5mm can be considered a cannon

I think the German 15mm counted as a cannon. It depends on what nation and era calls what what.

Yes, the general standard for "cannon" starts at 15mm.

It actually starts at 20mm, not 15mm, so the MG 151/15 would be a machine gun, while the MG 151/20 would be an autocannon

The Russian 12.7mm feels slightly more powerful than the American 12.7mm(.50 cal) but the US .50 cal gets a LOT more ammo in the belt and in my experience that makes it better.

Haven't used the 14.5mm yet but from what I've seen it's going to be your best HMG technically, but you don't get it until higher BRs. Some of the M2 .50 cals are at reserve tier! (Chinese m8 armored car is crazy good).
