why does a sabot round
goes through and through with just killing a single crew and damaging engine
i saw a documentary interview which the tank crew said:
"It liquefies everything inside," "You can technically come in with a hose and hose out the enemy tank crew. It just annihilates human matter."

Well, for one it depends on the caliber, the part it hits, and how fast it's going. Sabot generally is not going to 'liquify' a crew as though they got misted. Sabot rounds are very rapid projectiles encased in a larger projectile that basically act as a solid shot that can go through more armor. To put it in simple terms, not that I'm 100% accurate with even those. What documentary was this? I've found that documentaries in general are hit or miss, and you should always check primary sources. Including those of damage reports on enemy tanks, as sabot rounds have been around a long time.

take all news with a grain of salf, a US positive news crew will overhype such weapons and such a anti US crew will say its not as strong as it seems. find a middle ground, APFSDS is the best round for a MBT as its very high penetrations and its ability to spawl the inside of the tank to kill crew and damage components.

Unfortunately yes, it literally is an AI generated narrator who used footage of the Navy railgun test firing.

Quora post not a great source, but the images illustrate that APFSDS rounds, when hitting thin skinned vehicles, go in one side and out the other with a minimum of internal damage, generally not doing anything to things they don't directly hit

Then it's even more variable, depending on what you hit, where, with what, at what angle, at what distance etc.

It's still entirely relying on kinetic energy, fragmentation of the round, and spalling from the armour

im taking your opinion with a grain of salt too. depleted uranium is very tough but also brittle. if you also look at the length its long that will promote more distabilization once it pened

porb hit the inside of the tank killed driver and was at low angle so it went under the turret sompartment and went threw the back.

Maybe read the response I actually gave instead of complaining about my previous post?

(Also, nowhere before this comment did you say it went through the front of an MBT, you said you hit a crew member and the engine)

Still just wondering where the documentary is since the youtube short of an AI voiced narrator and incorrect footage of naval gun trials using magnets is not what I would consider to be reliable.
