Are rank 2 US planes the best?

I noticed many of fighters have good armor and bulletproof glass in rank 2 in USA, besides good firepower. Does this make them the best in rank 2?

I will say most have high ammo counts for high caliber guns at a tier where many nations are just starting to get cannon armed aircraft. Take that for what it's worth.

They're my favorites at least. .50 cals do plenty enough work and USA at this tier has plenty both in number and ammo count. They have great staying power and are very effective. Some nations do have aircraft that perform better depending on the situation. The Ki-61 is a pretty nasty plane at low altitude and the explosive .50 cals they get rip planes apart. The plane defies the laws of gravity for turning it often feels like anyway.

Low tier USA is very strong. Very good ordinance compared to other nations at that tier and overall. Some other choices will be tricky to fight against in air RB, but USA doesn't have weak filler there for sure.

USA does lack good turnfighters though. Some can compete, but typically you want to fly boom and zoom tactics. Keep that speed up, get distance and reengage. Get bogged down and many nations have planes that simply will out turn you.
