If you don't change direction after flaring a stinger, it'll continue on inertial guidance and hit you anyway, since all flares do is make it turn off it's seeker and go off inertial guidance until it can't see them anymore
Also the Stingers that the osolot and Gepard use have IRCCM which is a system that helps the missle attemp to diffrence there target from flare, Tip would be to Burst flare and swing urself away, flares alone wont help u.
