US Tree @ 7.3

Gotta say, this is the worst BR I have seen or played yet. Gayjin decides its okay to give US trees vehicles from the late 40's and early 50's to go against modern vehicles from the 70's and 80's? Also, the ratings needs to be decompressed -- why is the M47 the same level as a M48A1 which has more armor and a considerably better gun? Why are those a higher BR than the T34 heavy tank? Nothing about this BR makes sense.

You should try Britian 7.7 where you have the same issue but get to spend $9k to repair each of your tanks.

Brits have a lot of faults but at least they get good penetration capability, the same cannot be said for America's weak cannons with conventional ammo. APCR and even the normal 90mm shot seems to be hit or miss now since they introduced volumetric armor.

Know what you mean. I skipped the medium tank line, so that is probably only line you might find suitable vehicles for the rating. I used to play 6.7 tanks at 7.3, mainly the M50 and T92. But their repair costs are bit spicy these days.

You're absolutely correct, their penetration is fantastic. Unfortunately you rarely get a one shot kill and less often you get a 2nd shot.

I do agree that most of the US tech tree is over-tiered in a way that doesn't make sense. But anyways let me just go all out on what you've said.

The M47 is considerably better than the M48. They both share the same gun and ammunition types. The M48 armour is better, but is still weak in every way possible, the lower glacis is only 100mm thick. The turret is rounded and any slight angle will give an easy shot. You will still bounce a few APHE rounds and even sabot but rarely do you ever survive. The M47 has a better turret traverse compared to the M48, making it more reactive.

The thing is, the M47 is folded underneath the M46 so if you reckon the M47 to be worse just don't bother getting it, same with the M60 folded under the M48. However the M60A1 AOS 8.0 is actually decent. So I'd suggest you grinding towards it because it's just so damn reliable, but don't grind that tech tree line any further as you'll waste RP and time and SL.
