They control the in-game master server and all of the game servers. They control the launcher. They can feed it whatever data they want.

Hah was actually looking at the steam charts before this and was thinking of making a similar post to OP's. I guess they can fake it too but idk. I don't care i guess, if people like to grind or are having fun whatever... I hope they don't spend money tho
