Can try shooting through the lower plate if they are at a significant enough distance for the shell to have the angle on the ammo instead of just passing through the belly.
-Gun trunion region, the turret cheeks close to the gun always break the breach and at least one crew member KO.
-The driver hatch, optics, do the same with much more chances to hit amo, like on T80's.
Yes there are many exemples of soviet era armor destroyed but it doesn't tell you how easy it is to disable them.
There are few others exemples with western armor like the Turkishs Leo2 in syria, US abrams in Irak and even a leclerc one in yemen.
I prefer to be cautious.
The only advice i can give is to always have a retreat plan since the bvm has a 1/3 chance to survive a kill shot with no consequences. Killing a bvm is a roll of the dice so if your looking for a reliable way to kill one it doesn't exist.
That being said i often find they tend to exclusively use brute force rushes so use ambushes and fighting retreats(Kill then fall back before the rest can rush you) can thin their numbers.
Im sorry i couldn't be more helpful
ps:
Hard disagree that spot is hard to hit and the breach is way tougher then you think so unless you land it right under the barrel its wont disable
The obvious shot in that situation is the ammo carousel, but the ammo is doused in magic water that prevents it from detonating upon multiple direct hits most of the time, so the turret shot is worth going for if you remember to.
I agree it's hard, maybe the years of fighting against Tigers 2 help me to not fear theses kind of shots. When the only way to pen them was the turret front sides most of the time above 600-750m, helped.
Let's be honest, thoses T-xx in top tiers are a pain, and need some balancing.
I almost never 1shot from the front, but thoses tips we are gathering are all good.
The russians tanks are not good in reverse speed, most of the time they start to run with smoke anywhere, showing sides or even the rear to the team in urban fighting. I think it's better than nothing.
While slow in reverse it is sufficient for them to pull back into cover besides for most situations other tanks wont be going in reverse long enough to hit max speed so its more down to the acceleration in reverse which they are not to far behind.
One other weekness though its more the players then the vehicle as a result of the tendency to zerg/blitzkrieg rush they are oftern very predictable since they are likely unaware of the map situation so if you take up a uncommon position odds are they will drive right past you allowing you to clean house once from behind the enemy lines
