ah so it isnt 100% of the time cos i had like a full line of protection 4 got bloced and i had 1 1 1 1 and then it just didint work XD

Yes, your turret will have to face the incoming missile in order to intercept them, the issues of T-55 is the very slow turret turning rate, you will eventually have to learn how to turn the hull to compensate for the slow turret speed.

that was not the issue its the fact i had a blocked 4 and hadnt moved the turret and it didnt block the 5th

Only at the right angles. Otherwise, no. And most of the time, chopper missiles will hit the tank.

you also have a limited amount of charges, and the drozd system doesn't register objects moving faster than 700 m/s
so it only blocks early ATGM's and recoilless gun rounds.
