Are you sure about that? I highly doubt it is a skill issue when I am getting giga sniped by migs and ♥♥♥♥. Sounds like Gayjin have ♥♥♥♥♥♥ the battle ratings (again)
The F-5C has always relied on the user's ability to Gunfight in a Missile based environment, but it can do it very well thanks to its good energy retention in a maneuver fight.
It needs to be played very differently from Phantoms, MiG-23s, and Drakens (the latter of which you will dumpster on since Drakens are one-trick ponies) and you should have no issues against MiG-21s.
And as noted, the 9Es always were poorly suited for 10.3. But the 5C's Forte was gunfights.
Id go with the Harrier or F4S before I bought the F5C.
Missiles need not apply due to flares.
Im so confused at where this "muh dogfighter" meme comes from when this thing cant even out turn a F4 Phantom.
The only things it has going for it imo are its very tough airframe and it looks sexy.
I really like the F-5C
