Steam has been delisted from War Thunder's website (and now the microsoft store)
https://warthunder.com/en vs https://web.archive.org/web/20230520204641/https://warthunder.com/en

Hide the negativity all you want Gaijin, it's not going to get rid of it

Edit : as the title says, it's now gone from the microsoft store, if you manage to find the link the PC store version, it'll redirect you to the XBOX version instead

This is censorship, by avoiding reviews they are basically saying that our opinions don't matter! Don't give up, make sure to review the game elsewhere to prevent Gaijin from bypassing the review system. Otherwise they will continue to make the game more and more terrible. We have the momentum now to stop them from doing this. We are hitting them where it hurts. No more new players should be lured into this game to burn money!

Like I'm pretty sure a huge chunk of the people who play it play it on steam, and would rather not download it from the Gaijin Website proper, logically Gaijin would just be shooting itself in the foot. I have my opinions on this whole matter and will try not to pick a side, HOWEVER, its just not a smart business choice for Gaijin to de-list the game off steam because of the review bombing.

1. I feel as if that would be admitting defeat in a bad way
2. Even more of a player count loss for the game
3. It would just cause more damage than it would fix

It would probably be in their best interest to do things that...you know..arent removing the game off steam

I noticed that War Thunder doesn't have Steam logo on the website.

WT Website: https://warthunder.com/en

Is this the end of War Thunder on Steam after 10 years?

funny as ♥♥♥♥ how half of these are just asking a question and get merged into our beautiful rager thread where theyll never receive an answer instead of a dev or mod just answering the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ question and pinning it. hah.

can we get to double digits bros?

No. Think you can just use the same email address you used on the steam version of the game.
Also, I don't think they're leaving Steam, that's just shooting themselves on the foot.

i mean, gaijin has basically aimed a small ship cannon at their legs and fired it multiple times in the past days, so i wouldnt be too surprised :D

I wouldn't say threatening, yeah. They haven't released anything that really makes me think that.

It is certainly concerning though. It is for sure an indicator of something more. Either Gajin is just trying to block people from viewing Steam to avoid viewing the Steam reviews, or they are considering removing the game from Steam.

Ash talks a bit about it, apparently Gajin isn't very happy (and have tried to bypass it in the past) having to pay the 30% commission by Steam.

Majority of players see it as implied intention. If this was an IRL crime case or something then police would actually use that as evidence of implied intention or plotted actions, so I believe that's why the community also sees it in the same viewpoint.

I'm neutral about that action from them until I see more, but it is certainly a curious thing for them to do just after the community out-lash started.

Yeah, thats the scary thing. With how Gaijin's been acting, them pulling out of Steam without giving everyone a heads up, is now a possibility if it means total damage control.

well it doesnt though, if they do that, they will crumble as a company and not recover from neither the bad PR that would generate nor from the potential lawsuits following that.

i would really like to see that though.

I'd argue it's a bad move to try and hide the deserved criticism and pretend it didn't happen, if Gaijin wants to just ditch Steam so it doesn't have to deal with negative reviews and whatnot rather than finally taking some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ responsibility for the circus they call Gaijin, I can imagine the backlash is going to spread to other places as well, they've already went down to 70% positive reviews on google as well.

Trying to silence a community that wants to be heard.. good luck with that I suppose, wouldn't be the first time Gaijin would surprise me by just how bad they handle things despite having low expectations.

even if they withdrew, i wouldn't care

They're mad that they have to give Steam a 30% cut for access to the largest player base in gaming.
Yet for you to access top tier and enjoy their game you'll need to purchase premium time, premium vehicles, battle passes, and golden eagles. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ greedy hypocrites.

They technically don't give steam that though since they just flat out increased the cost of things for steam users, but you can buy the very same $80 packs for like $30-$40 from their website. So regardless they're making more in general from steam due to the price hike they setup. I know this for a fact since a few years ago I was going to get a russian tank that was on sale on steam for $80 in a pack, but my friend who refuses to play the game via steam told me about their website, and I literally got the exact same pack for $35 on their website. Not even discounted.

For me, and most likely for a ton of players, if a game isn't on Steam, it doesn't exist.

Absolutely true, cold hard facts, and I hope Gaijin can actually see and understand that.

Literally no one looks at other 'providers' for games unless they came to PC from Console and still don't know what Steam is, but in this day and age, Steam is life.

Enjoy the award.
