I wasn't crying about it, simply telling someone who expected it at high tier to think again, and guess what? The F-104 family is around 10.0-11.7 because it's balanced there. Maybe they could change simulator to year based so you could have your Stuart vs Tiger, Sherman vs Tiger II, and T-34-85M vs M60 fights

Yeah your idea isnt bad and they do have sim's that are era based they should do the same with RB battles.

You do realize that most of the F-104's crashes were not owing to the planes design, but rather because the Luftwaffe decided to place a delicate plane outside throughout the German winter without any tarps, used it for divebombing missions, handed it over to inexperienced pilots, and refused to provide proper maintenance to its aircraft, right? They had a similar failure rate with the F-86/CL-13 Sabres for the same reasons, they flew them too often, used them outside of their mission envelope, failed to properly maintain them, and handed them over to unqualified pilots. When used in their proper role as a limited fast-response interceptor while also being properly maintained, they fared quite well, with Spanish F-104s, for instance, seeing twenty-one airframes fly tens of thousands of hours for approximately thirty years without a single crash. Norway and Japan had similar success due to actually operating the F-104 in the manner it was designed for, with only a handful of crashes occurring between the two countries, all of which were the result of severe pilot error as a result of either laziness of complacency.

yet it still has its place in history just like the other vehicles in this game.

i called you self-righteous after your whole tangent on politics pal and if you read my tangent on humvee's as a insult to your intelligence then you have self-esteem issues dont get me wrong you are well versed in history and thats awesome but i didnt attack first you did.

the problem some people have with it is immersion.

by its capability, its probably around where it should be, maybe a tad low, but seeing sherman VS BTR-80A completely ruins any kind of immersion.

even though theres no story to be immersed in or anything, having such leaps in eras, just feels strange.

it's for me like the game For Honor: knights VS vikigns VS samurais, WTF?

its purely subjective, so it is what it is. not everything is for everyone.

I mean will having the BTR really change "immersion" in warthunder? I mean basically every nation has a post-war vehicle that frequently fights along side WWII vehicles, so what is changing from how the game already is?

hell, the JPZ 4-5 is from the late 60's, same with the SUB I-II, the R3 is from the 80's, many of the swedish tanks beyond 4.0 are 50's and onwards like the Pvkv II, The M56 is a postwar TD that often is fighting WWII vehicles, and I can keep going on.
