Past this point really, the game becomes a memory challenge in knowing where weak spots are and what shell to use. For the Tiger, you can side pen it, but also aim for the turret hatch on top if its not the E variant (5.7). Otherwise, go for the gun then track and shoot it from the side. Though I think your gun might be able to penetrate it front on if its not angled when in the KV-1, I could be wrong though, it's been a while
If you want your 4.3 tanks to have an easier time, don't take a 4.7 in the lineup. Not only does it increase the highest BR you can be placed in, but it also means your 4.3 tanks will be more consistently uptiered since they'll always be at least one step uptiered at 4.7 BR.
Though do note that most tanks can honestly fight 1.3-2.0 BR higher than their own. You just have to alter your playstyle. Its like how often M24 Chaffee tanks are brought up. Many players take their 3.7 Chaffee to 5.7 and get it uptiered to 6.7 and still use it effectively.
Don't focus so much on BR, it doesn't matter as much as you might think. Also don't play above like 6.7 either, before comments start talking about BR in that range.
OP can also look for vehicles the uptier well. Mobility and firepower are important traits.
The ASU-57 or SU/ISU-152 are always effective.
I want to play top tier, I'm just having trouble advancing because
1: I'm fighting superior vehicles than mine (where I only have maybe 2 tanks that can somewhat fight back), or
2: I can participate and kinda contribute to the game but at most 1 - 2 kills leaving me only getting a few hundred RP per game while I'm trying to research 40,000+ RP Vehicles in tier III
I would love to use those vehicles, but I can't research them in while only getting 400 RP a game. And to be honest I don't have those research trees nearly as completed as they probably should be by now.
In this case its likely 4.0 USSR. T-34, T-34, KV-1S, SU-152 when you get it. Add additional KVs or T-34 from 3.7 as you'd like and have slots.
But in general diving down one Tech Tree line is a bad idea.
Ignoring the grind and just enjoying the vehicles you already have is the best way to have fun in this game. Playing to grind will kill your interest in the game.
Just don't expect to be at modern stuff any time soon. Expect to wait at least a few months before you get there. You're not even at the point where your Silver Lion income is going to be negative every round and you'll have to go back into lower tiers just to grind SL to pay for the vehicles you're not unlocking because of low RP gains. The grind is the worst part of the game. As long as you're ignoring it, you can have fun.
