medium tanks in air rb battles

i noticed when they nerfed the damage of he belts for aircraft you couldnt kill medium or heavy tanks with cannons in air rb anymore. even with ground belts the bullets go straight through them without any hit markers even with the german 30mm guns. has anyone else noticed this?

It depends on the map. Some maps have "realistic" damage models that are the same as the ground modes, where you have to kill the crew, hit the ammo, etc. The easiest way to kill these is to shoot the engine deck and set them on fire, they have no FPE and will burn out eventually.

Other maps still have the older damage models where a few rounds will kill them right away.

so far ive played almost every map available in air rb and havent found a medium tank i can damage with cannons, only bombs

I can kill em with 20mms, use ground belts not HE, and aim for the usual spots you would on a medium tank to pen, roof, engine block, sides of the hull.

ive been using ground belts with both 20mm and 30mm but its not even giving hit markers
