here is some free advice, the game doesnt actually get any more fun just because you are playing the latest and most shiny vehicle, find your enjoyment where you can and get this idea out of your head that you should use only the best available
also worth noting 3000+ hours has not gotten me to the top of every branch of air, helicopters, coastal boats, bluewater ships and tanks, for every nation, i am genuinely tier 1 still in some branches and nations. I also played almost exclusively air sim at the start so was already high level when i started ground and naval modes.
hours and level mean absolutely nothing, and even if someone is better than you this isnt ranked matchmaking, you have got the wrong game for that mindset. Instead of getting annoyed try and learn from people that outperform you
Lets say you enjoy the BR of 2.0 to 2.9 depends on how good you are in 1.0 to 1.9 you might be place like 4000-5000 rating as example then you climb as you gain more wins than losses and how well you did in those games. If you gain 1st place you gain more pts than the person at 10th place.
My system is not perfect but at least it is an attempt. You guys probably have better idea as I have only like 142 hours in this game.
Only downside is adding more time to queue because your going to further separate player base who are in those specific BR range into specific ratings.
In theory it would bring negative effect then later bring more players to the game in the future. The current system they have now is what drives new players away.
besides this is a free to play game and they aren’t trying to retain every player, just keep a high enough population to maintain matchmaking for the ~20% of players actually paying the bills. Non paying players leaving and new ones coming is just part of the business
You are also basing your theory that it will ‘bring more people in’ on no logic I can see, there are a finite number of players who would try warthunder, your change would not greatly increase the number of people in the market for a vehicle combat sim (in the loosest sense of the word) nor would it do much to retain the many leaving for completely unrelated reasons.
Your entire premise is for them to damage their game in such a way that not only increases matchmaking times but by your own claim cause people to leave increasing it even further again, then cross their fingers hoping people are willing to spend longer waiting than the average arcade match lasts and this will somehow recover from to greater heights rather than die…
Edit: for my own two cents I don’t think the game will last too much longer than them running out of modern jets and tanks, once the die hard crowd willing to pay eagles to get into the newest and best vehicle as soon as it’s released have their m1a2sepv3 and f22a what else are they going to convince them to spend money on, I doubt new players alone will keep the game on more than life support
What do you exactly want people who has played for a long time but prefer WWII vehicles to do?
Have been playing this game somewhere between 2000-3000 hours total. But by your logic I am not allowed to play that tier because I have so many hours?
On the other hand I´ve seen people only play the BR1 BT-7 for years, for example, and I mean only the BT-7. These kind of players outperform everyone else on this BR, especially the newbs. But there aren´t that many of them and they are all limited to lowest BR. They would screw up everywhere else. And as soon as you advance you´re gonna leave them behind anyway.
Like any other game WT can be unfair sometimes but complaints wont help. The best way to handle it is to just get better. And you will.
I played a lot of low tier lately and had so much fun.
Today I played a couple of 5.0 BR matches and jesus christ this is more pain than fun to play. Everyone sits behind his tiny little rock next to his spawn and waits for you to drive to them across the entire map so that they can peak out of their tiny rock formation and kill you in their pre-camped kill zone.
Half the players in the 5.0 BR range do absolutely not give a single **** about the objectives or anything at all and play like that.
It is a complete and boring camperfest...
I'll do one or two more 5.0 BR matches but if it is the same again then I will go back to low tier. I understand your sentiment when you are saying that long time players are seal clubbing new players but seriously the playstyle at "higher" BRs is absolutely toxic and boring. I can't stand it at all. Sorry.
If we lose a game because 8 of my teammates still have usable tanks but willingly let the tickets run out cause they choose to stay in their favourite little perfect camping spot then this isn't fun for me at all.
It isn't fun to win like that either because I am just sitting at an uncontested capture point while the enemy thinks I will abandon it and rush towards their spawn.
As for your question I bet you will find something on youtube if you type in "favourite camper spots" and the corresponding map for warthunder etc.
I recommend you to join a clan and to form up a squad with more experienced players. Follow them, learn from them. Also watching the replays helps a lot. If someone outperforms you, learn how he did it. Speaking of map positions, they change over time depending on personal experience and how many players have learned to counter.
