Suggestion for air battles: exp penalty for pilot death
I see the torches, just hear me out before you throw them at my windmill.

People are too ready and willing to commit to actions that make little sense in air combat, because "they have another pilot/plane".
These actions include, but are not limited to: ramming other planes (especially in head-on collisions), taking a severely damaged aircraft into a fight from which there is no hope of winning at an altitude from which bailing out is impossible if shot down, staying in an aircraft that is burning and counted as dead in the hopes of getting one last shot at someone before hitting the ground (especially bombers).

I get it, it's a game, but these should be things that players try to avoid -and there are incentives to do so, to an extent. For instance, crash landing/soft landing nets you a small amount of exp (as does landing and repairing a plane). but the gains from these actions frequently outweighs the costs (time especially), and does nothing to curb a player's lack of reluctance to smash their plane into another plane -or even the ground.

TLDR: My suggestion is that, if your pilot dies, they incur a penalty (perhaps a percentage loss) to that pilot's individual level exp gain at the end of the mission.
This would add incentive NOT to lose your pilot, meaning players would have reason to bail out of crippled planes, attempt soft/crash landings, and avoid collision with other aircraft.

I would further suggest that the exp for soft landings, crash landings, and full landings for repair/ream be increased slightly to further add incentive to these (I would also recommend that, after rearming, your plane resumes from the spawn point as, especially in lower BR games, you can lose a significant amount of time -up to 50%- of the match by flying to base, waiting for repair, then flying back), and that a bonus for the pilot's individual gained exp be added based on the length of time their aircraft (and pilot) were present in the match.

These small shifts would, in my view, provide incentives for players to keep their pilots alive and avoid knowingly suicidal actions that make no sense from a pilot -except that "it's a game and I have another person to use".

so you should also incur a penalty if you get randomly pilot sniped which happens all too often in game. the last thing we need is even more grind for crew xp, dont give gaijin more ideas. it wont stop people crashing their plane and not bailing out, it will just piss people off more.

This is a Gopnik level stupid thread.
imagine putting this in your game and nobody knows about it exists, no but actually WoT had this stupid mechanic your injured crew lost %10 XP if you didnt heal them before game ended, in the end it didnt matter and was pointless so i guess they removed it after a while or maybe still exists

instead of a penalty a little %5-10 percent bonus sounds alot better

No part of any of this is roleplay. Ramming especially (which occurs because of a lack of concern of their plane/pilot) is something most players I have talked to despise and wish could be somehow curbed.
now, if you want to say that you are a valiant kamikaze pilot who will always ram before turning away... THAT is roleplay.

There would be a penalty if your pilot is killed by being shot, yes. It makes sense, in a way -after all, the pilot died, how'd they get experience? (I'm not saying remove it all, I'm just saying there should be incentive to have your pilot survive).

Fair point, and would also work for all purposes.
