Why not everyone? Why only premium?
I don't disagree, but premium account does need unique benefits. I don't mind supporting any game with a subscription model that has good value. in fact it's my main method of support for War Thunder, because I hate the idea of buying $5 bushes, $10 skins, $70 vehicles. Me personally I would rather pay a monthly subscription over being nickle and dimed to death by game mechanics designed to accomplish just that. As it is currently, premium account for War Thunder is trash.
Elder Scrolls Online has a really good subscription model that gives you premium currency every month, plus discounts, plus unlocks all DLC. War Thunder could do the same with monthly premium currency, included battle passes, rotating discounts on store items, etc. Perhaps reduce the current premium account perks to silver, and add a more expensive gold premium account for those of us who prefer the traditional means of monetization. Silver premium account could be something you could earn regularly in-game, more so than it is currently.
Bottom line, though, is that this game is not free. Nor should it be. There just needs to be more means of supporting future development without forcing everyone down the same path while simultaneously destroying the game design to achieve more and more revenue.
You have almost 500 games and 900 dlcs to your steam account, I am sure you can find the money for a premium account.
Friendly reminder to make sure to vote YES on the proposed economy update/submit additional feedback on the proposed changes as seen fit.
"This revision will lead to increased SL earnings across the board, with a particular focus on medium to high rank vehicles. Our goal is to ensure that the average player at all ranks can maintain a positive or at least neutral SL balance, even without an active Premium account."
I can respect that.
I suppose the slow progression is temptation enough for people to stop bumming and open their wallet. No need for anyone to go negative, even a less than average player.
Also the new feature for premium is AWESOME to all those who cry about it, lads its a company they need to make money its that simple and honestly the premium time is now even more worth it, having a insurance to not lose money is just .. i honestly never thought i will see this in WT.
That's the reality of it. I don't want the overall game design to suffer in order to dictate how players spend, but the truth is the more this game is willingly financially supported, the better it will become. Gaijin, as much as I view the development team as suits giving orders to programmers has at least consistently reinvested in the game and engine.
Though, Mirage does make a solid point about negative SL for free players.
Uhm yeah sure but at the moment the average player (in my head is 1.0 KD) is loosing money i hope gaijin makes it so that the average player with 1.0 kd will go even in the grand scheme of things
Simple question.
If they didn't make money, would they continue to develop and host War Thunder services?
