Yes, there is a need. But other than some captured BMP-1s and the light tanks in the Israeli tech tree I am unable to find info on the IDF using light tanks, nor do they seem to operate any IFV/APCs that would be suitable. (The Sabrah light tank being a potential exception, though at this point it would be with a Philippines flag, but its also a brand new vehicle and unlikely to make it to WT for several years)

I would expect to eventually see the BMP as a premium or event vehicle because unlike the Tirans (T-54/55s) Israel used, it doesnt appear the BMPs were modified in any way, so they dont exactly rate inclusion into the TT.

Otherwise what would you expect Gaijin to add? You cannot get water from a stone, if Israel isnt using vehicles WT would call light tanks... what can really be done?

possibly give them the Eitan, its brand new armed with an autocannon (cant find exactly what the gun is), not so different to a wheeled version of the puma

yeah but that's still not much and only good for 7.7 to 8.0 and it's another MBT

like you said israel did have BMP'S just left in it's original configuration from the six day war and yom kippa war aswell as having the namer currently, just something for other roles from 7.0 upwards would be nice

While Israel doesn't use the Sabrah, the design originated from Israel, based on an Austro-Spanish chassis. It could be one to consider.

"The Sabrah Light Tank is a tank designed by Elbit Systems based on the ASCOD and Pandur II platforms.

It's a tracked or wheeled light tank manufactured by Elbit Systems, a defence manufacturing company based in Israel. It is designed to complement the fleet of armored fighting vehicles (AFVs) operated by the armed forces worldwide. The tracked light tank configuration is based on the tracked ASCOD AFV platform, which is manufactured by Spanish armored vehicles manufacturer General Dynamics European Land Systems - Santa Bárbara Sistemas — (GDELS-SBS), a part of American aerospace and defence company General Dynamics. Elbit Systems received a three-year contract worth $172m to supply the Sabrah light tanks to the Philippine Army (PA) in January 2021.[1]"

The IFV variant of the Eitan with an unmanned turret with a 30 mm gun could be another to consider.

There is a variant of the RBY Mk 1 with a TOW launcher and 2 x 7.62 mm MG.

"The RBY Mk 1 is a light armoured reconnaissance vehicle that was produced by the RAMTA Division of Israel Aircraft Industries. RBY is an anglicized acronym for "Rechev Ben-Yaacov". "Rechev" is Hebrew for "vehicle" and "Ben-Yaacov" is the last name of the creator of the vehicle, Yitzchak Ben-Yaacov (1919-2011)."

The RAM Mk 3 AT is another vehicle to consider.

"The RAM Mk3 AT is equipped with 4-8 LAHAT laser guided anti-tank missiles. Unlike other armored vehicles, which have the engine at the front or under the protected cabin, RAM places the entire power-pack – engine, automatic transmission and transfer cases at the rear.[7][8]"

i seriously don't know why they weren't added when they released the Israeli tech tree
Colonel Jason 4/mai./2023 às 3:32
There are ♥♥♥♥ ton of tanks can be added to Israeli tech tree but no because Pantsir or AA based on Leopard chassis are far more importmant.(!)
