Was fat sherman (jumbo) nerfed? armor useless now

Hello I have some curious question. Has jumbo sherman (5.3) been recently nerfed? It couldnt be penetrated frontally with panther even in close quaters, only through gunport. (or via having good 90° degrees look at them). Suddenly I can penetrate them quite easily, almost everywhere on UFP. (actually I play germans and usa on 5.3 and I noticed this today when i was killed by VK by centre shot on UFP under angle, which was kinda gaijin moment.)

They nerfed the jumbo so the long 75 could pen it over a year ago, the IS and tiger 1's will still struggle with it but beyond that its pretty easy to pen nowadays. Best to stay moving so they second guess their shots and so you can abuse your stab and kill them or disable them if they have heavier armor.

Panthers and soviet tanks with the 85mm gun have always been able to pen a jumbo ... in very specific circumstances, namely they need to be within 200m and fire at either the top of the UFP or aim at the edges of the transmission and hope their explosive mass can do enough damage. The reason you might not have experienced this happening before is that if the jumbo was to slightly angle that could cause the shot to ricochet, and most panther players know this and will prefer to aim for the mg port rather than attempt such a risky shot.

Yeah I was doing that, trolling panthers is always fun. They didnt know what to do with me and couldnt pen me. In retrospective I am amazed that I havent died in past weeks by having UFP penned by them and today was my first reality check.

I played german 5.3 for years and I didnt know about that nerf which happened year ago. So until today I was killing jumbos by shootin at mg port :D And while in jumbo I didnt fear panthers. Today was my first reality check :D I was really surprised and double checked my record

Yeah I was fighting Jumbo's and driving them when they could occasionally ignore the long 88 and 122, it was nuts but it didn't last long, before that anything better than the long 75 would easily get through and after that the long 75 started penning the front plate pretty consistently but I usually aim for the MG port because its a habit at this point, even when I have a long 88 or I am firing a sabot from a 17pdr, I know I don't have too but I just instinctively do it anyway.

Thought killing Jumbos were always easy with the Panther if you know how to Trickshot it frontally at the front edge, MG port, Flanking or disable turret or luck the Transmission.
