but that's warthunder for you. 7/10 planes in the game have busted damage models or flight models in 1 way or another.
Best way to deal with zeros is to energy fight them and drain them completely of their energy by keeping yours. now if you get stuck under them, you're dead. nothing you can do except hope they suck at aiming and make a mistake.
leave japanese planes be.
Japan is the easiest nation to deal with, all their planes are slow as hell. If you get caught by one just by being slower then they are, you deserve to be sent back to the hanger.
Maybe OP should try playing Japan and see how horrible it is to actually play em (there's a reason you don't see that many JP nation players in queues relative to every other nation).
LOL I have an entire lineup of A6M's that I use when I need to get first place in a match or get the high kill score in AB for Gaijin reasons. They're not bad in RB either.
I usually fly MS Fight Simulator or IL-2.
I came to War Thunder because of my son, to sometimes play with him.
Guess what: The first thing I have laid away was thinking about "realism in War Thunder".
I know now: USSR prop planes can make zero radius 180 degree turns without losing speed and some planes can climb forever.
That is the game. Some may find it funny. I only play it when my son invites me to. Otherwise, I see it more like a digital joke.
And, from the deep of my heart: I think this game is meant to by just a funny arcade thing, never anything realistic or historical accurate.
It is okay as long if you keep this in mind. Nothing to blame here.
When it comes to Realistic Battles (can't speak for Simulator, but afaik the performance there is the same with less automated aspects), very few aircraft can pull off Arcade-grade stuff and those are usually outliars that really shouldn't be able to do so well based on their stats and the supposed real technical documents used for them, Yaks being perfect turnfights capable of spaceclimbing on a whim being one of the examples.
