Warthunder forums got reworked, all old post are gone

So Gaijin decided to migrate to a new forum, without any prior announcement. New forum is basically bare, since they didn't migrate any of the old posts to the new site. The old posts still exist here old-forum.warthunder.com, but in a view only mode, and this will be taken down in 2 years.

I don't wanna get my tin foil hat on, but this is an awfully convenient way wiping all the old complaints and bug reports away.

So . . they have discontinued the old Forum . . . .

I do not comment much here on Steam, but I do drop in to read posts now & then, a lot more recently with all the "issues". But I do use/read the game's "Forum" daily . . to try to keep up & stay informed. So today I go there and it is basically just . .. gone. The old Forum is still there, but set to Read-Only . . . you cannot post there anymore . . . at all. And apparently they did not transfer anything at all to this new Forum . . . . wow. I cannot say for sure, but it seems like the move was just to get away from a lot of the negative posting of late and ongoing dissent that many Forum users have kept alive. It just makes no sense and after the recent "roadmap" for economy & game changes, this just . . . I dunno . . . feels a lot like a big middle finger to the players from Gaijin . . . at a really bad time for that.
I have never once logged into WT via Steam, so it should show like 0 hours played, but I have been playing since Feb. 2014 and have around 24,000 hours logged into the game . .. and that is not a typo. I play daily and was a Game Master for several years, so I was logged in a LOT . . . .lol. I like playing this game, but they keep doing their best to make that harder & harder to do . . . it can be frustrating . . . This Forum change is not a good thing . . and it looks even worse than it prolly is . . . I just do not understand much about the game makers and what they are trying to accomplish anymore . . . but I will still play . . . until I don't

Why gaiijn removed old fourm

This new fourm is bad and all of 10 years of suggestions doomed

I made 150 suggestion in the latest 6 monts,and i had 5-7 ongoing and avvaiting approval! All LOST! I spent time, money, blood and tears making these!!!!

i dont get why anyone cares about the forum thingy..

steam discussion page is much better because at least here you have some sort of freedom of speech unlike their forums

They're both essentially pointless when it comes to getting changes made so it doesn't matter, but people like to feel heard and the forum gives people the illusion that Gaijin is hearing their complaints.. but it's really just some unpaid moderators who don't care about it and just enforce their interpretation of the rules.

yea, tbh i don't get why anyone would want to be a moderator for this.

Except steam discussion page has a character limit at around 8k, terrible formatting options, and no subcategory systems, making it a terrible place to navigate, and overall pretty bad place to post any in-depth topics.

cuz this view only page will get lost in that one comment thread it got posted in and eventually forgotten.

I'm not saying they are trying to get rid of evidence, I don't really believe that myself, it just comes off as odd with the timing and no forewarning at all. Just like how gaijin claims to have had the upcoming changes planned internally for years, it comes off as being very convenient considering the timing.
