Infantry Settings Still In-game (As of 16.06.2023)
Warthunder (even though the event ended) still features settings for infantry, i'm sure it's left there for a reason, as i speculated for quite some time we might be getting infantry in the game. But you ask: Oh, hasn't Enlisted done that already? No. Enlisted is completely different from Warthunder, as Enlisted is focused on mostly infantry combat. We might be getting combined arms infantry mode for Warthunder in the next few updates. Soldiers with Stingers, Javelins and RPGs. Warthunder certainly needs a new gamemode and this might be it.

Screenshot of said Settings. Some things weren't even in the April Fools gamemode.
It contains some pretty Unique Stuff Like:

Fast Run. (You couldn't fast run in the event)

Fire from underbarrel grenade launcher.

Smoke Grenades.

Ground RB "operations" like in air mode
NPC squads and bases you can shred with your MG :D
(wasn't on for said event but noticed settings)
I highly doubt it

You see, i don't. We already have Ai infantry in the game, for years. (since pretty much WT came out). We also have alot of IFVs coming in recently that don't make much sense (especially the ''new'' VBCI-2), i think we will be getting infantry in a new gamemode one way or another, will it be playable? Likely. We also have Helicopters designed for troop transport that suck in their roles now....i remember hauling Ai infantry in the very early versions of helicopter gamemode. Think about it, we have: IFVs, Troop helicopters, Ai infantry (especially featured in gamemodes like World War or early helicopter battles), we have the settings for infantry (some of the settings weren't even in the event, things like granades and underslung grenade launchers)...etc. etc. It makes sense to me + Gaijin can make alot of money out of it and it will keep the game alive for years to come as it seems they ran out of ideas (last few updates were especially empty and pretty bad).

Its wishful thinking but iirc gaijin said they werent planning on including infantry. Also theres no point as we already have enlisted. Also the game just wouldnt work with playable infantry, they would need to spend so much time and resources on changing the game to add something so few players want.

Gaijin said many times they wont include things like: ''missiles'', ''modern MBTs'' etc. So i won't conclude just from that...and like i said, they could make alot of money from infantry. I'm sure most people would welcome an infantry gamemode, as this game is basically the same thing from beta and alpha.
I don’t think adding infantry is comparable to adding missiles. The main issue with infantry is the game rating. The game should still be rated T I believe, though I dunno if the old rating system still really exists. If they add infantry, the game by definition should have to bump up to a higher rating. It’s why exposed tank crews disappear if the vehicle is on fire. They don’t want people on fire in the game. Its also why a “dead” crewman only lowers their head a bit. There’s no blood or anything like that. Its all about ratings and keeping the game available in as many countries as possible since some outright ban violent video games. Ever see footage of PUBG or something back in the day where blood from hits was blue or green? Some countries would ban it otherwise.

Point is, there’s a lot more surrounding this than just adding it. It will change the game fundamentally in ways Gaijin have fought hard to prevent.

They would have to change the game way too much. The missiles etc are different. This game was originally just supposed to be about planes and now its just about military vehicles. Thats it, vehicles. All these missiles etc were naturally going to come becuase of the nature of the game. But this game isnt about infantry, its about vehicles.

They made a game about infantry, its called enlisted. They dont have much to gain from adding infantry to a game which doesnt need or want it

I know everything you said, but i think infantry will still be included for reasons above.
I think and hope that you're wrong. WT has enough problems with bugs and balancing as it is, introducing such a major thing would mean less time and effort towards making the base game, which is vehicles, work to it's best potential. Also there's the whole age rating conundrum, though for that part I wouldn't mind if some of the 12 year olds suddenly weren't allowed to play by their mommies anymore, however Gaijin probably would.

I suppose that's a possible example of knowing without understanding. Either way, I don't think the reasons you've listed are remotely conclusive and the evidence supporting otherwise is quite strong. They're not coming.

Even if the infantry is not coming, the ''mobile infantry'' event was testing something for infantry mechanics, the game needs Ai infantry featured in helicopter PvE
That I could believe. Though I dunno about the helicopter aspect, but then again the game's BR only goes up to about 5.7 for me. Far as I'm concerned, everything above that doesn't exist.

My understanding is that they don't want the parental guidance rating to change, so no infantry, blood, gore, etc. Enlisted isn't even close to being on the scale of War Thunder, nor does it span eras. There's no reason why WT couldn't make another game mode based around an infantry focused combined arms while leaving the rest of the game completely intact. To say that "few" players want it is absurd, considering you have no way of knowing that or even predicting how much of a boom War Thunder would receive with the implementation of infantry. I for one, do want it, because the more combined arms this game becomes the better in my opinion. I'm still waiting for a game mode that allows ships, tanks, and planes to fight over actual objectives such as ports, supply routes, etc. in a long battle format.

Yeah, it'd allow some tanks to really fill their roles as well as the addition of new vehicles which really can't function in tank battles as is. There's definitely potential and the playerbase might very well like it, I just don't see it happening officially. Its too big a project. The scoring and economy aspects of mixing them in might be really weird.
