War Thunder
Why I'm leaving the game after almost 3000 hours
Im tired of playing the game and having to play against newbs, I Joined this game back in 2014 aka 9 years ago, I loved this game to death and had to quit and come back many times, and every time I come back this game becomes my main game and I wont even touch other games, but man this ♥♥♥♥ needs to stop seriously. I joined this game for WW2, getting my Tigers, panthers, T 34s, IS line ups, JU 87s to the Ho 229 was the best time I ever had with this game, nothing beats the first time I got my tiger h1 and got sniped from 1 km away and died right away, or how I survived over 60 rounds in my stug 3 because everyone was spamming me with the ACPR and kept shooting me in the same spot over and over complaining how this game was broken and unrealistic and how WOT is so much more realistic.

Now this game is no longer fun for me, I have the abrams, the leos, the t70s and markevas, I got all the German and American tanks ACED, every single plane in Germany and USA all the way to end of WW2 ACED, but I couldnt care one bit about modern vehicles, I don't care about these F1 cars with canons on them, I don't care for point and click adventure games of sending missiles from 20km away. I still play WW2 and here comes the problem, I feel like a smurf at all times, I pull out pnz 4 and all im facing is noobs, I pull out the tiger and its sitting at 5.3...... while shermans with worse armor, gun, rounds, speed, and awful size sit at 5.7... and all that happens is me stumping noobs with my first spawn and most of the times not dying, Its not fun, I want to fight people in similar skills not someone with 50 battles under their belts. same goes for planes, you wont belive how many times u see players try to turn fight my zero in their p51, or try to climb and boom and zoom with their zeros..... it ends up being slaughter fest because there is always another few people just like me down there playing the planes they like and end up stumping new players.

I hear you say Yakuza, why don't you play the Tiger 2s and the me 262s to avoid fighting noobs and face people with the same skill as yourself, well straw-man that I just made up, easy, power creep. Nothing hurts more than seen my Is3 get lolpened by a german BMP with atgm or vice versa my tiger 2 getting lolpened from 2 km away by a IKV 91 with a laser range finder and heatfs, or how about non stop spam of CAS by the allies. same goes for the planes, you are using ur ww2 plane and getting shot down by air to air missles or by getting stumped by planes that can out speed u, out climb u, out turn u, and out gun you.
until the day Gaijin realises they need to separate the game and have ww2 and post ww2 era in a different game, this game will have huge smurfing problem, making new people run away from the game and slowly kill it. People that are here for atgms and modern vehicles, dont give a rats ass about a tank that can do 20kmh speed and shot a canon size of a plane canon, or people who are here for the heavy tank game play with big ol gun and armor dont care about speedy tanks. same goes for the air as well, you are here because you loved the new top gun movie? well too bad here is a bi plane, go grind to early jets to Vietnam era jets to than have a chance of getting the tomcat.

Rent over.
PS: I dont care for the SL or the grind, I always enjoyed the grind.

Yeah and its people like that push us noobs out of playing too lol.

I can't blame you for enjoying WWII era either, that is where I want to sit because it just seems like it gets retarded after. I agree that gaijin needs to restructure BR's around the eras better so that WWII is one genre, cold war the next, and post cold war after. And I really dislike when they put vehicles from 1970s into the WWII BR as well.

Might I suggest you try to take on a new role in WT and mentor noobs/new players like myself? maybe it will give you some sort of accomplishment to bring new players up enough to compete against long time vets like yourself.
If you want challenge you could also play tournaments. Your opponents will probably be anything but noobs and most of the tournaments are WW2 era with maybe one post war light tank

One of my tank has 700 kills with only 150 death, hasn't considered the game being too easy and everyone is a noob. Maybe yours has 2000 kills with 50 death.

What tank might that be if I may ask?
I don't understand your reasoning at all. There are always ways to further challenge yourself if you want to.

How about trying out a minor nation for example or playing a BR that is less meta in vehicles that are less meta? Or how about simply switching up your playstyle?

To me it sounds like your playstyle is probably the main reason why you are getting bored and not your seeming excuse of "I don't want to sealclub new players".

Let me explain what I mean by that. ..

In air battles for example I see so many players climbing to 8 km and then just afk flying in circles and diving on the occasional poor victim from above. It will give you a nice K/D for sure but in my opinion it does little towards winning the match on top of it being a very boring and passive playstyle. I mostly play ground attack aircraft and take out ground targets in air battles which is a lot more enjoyable and action packed than afk circling after afk climbing for 5 minutes. It will not give you that feeling of "I am sealclubbing new players" because you will die a lot more often due to not being in an invincibly strong energy position but at the same time you are doing more towards winning the match.

Same goes for ground battles. I can't tell you how often I see idiots and yes they are idiots in my opinion who just camp behind the first rock in their spawn and watch tiny predetermined deathzones without MOVING AN INCH the entire match. Yes they also have a nice K/D but they don't ever bother moving out of their safespot even if all 3 objectives have been taken by the enemy. I have lost so many matches because players like that for whatever reason refuse to play the game or rather REFUSE TO TRY TO WIN THE GAME. Go towards the points, challenge objectives and PLAY THE GAME. I am not saying that this is what you are doing because I do not know but from reading what you typed it SOUNDS like your playstyle is more towards this passive sitting behind rocks in invulnerable spots with bushes all over your tank and then getting "bored" of "sealclubbing new players". So why not play more aggressive? Challenge points more aggressively and try to get objectives rather than sit passively in extremely safe spots? I would get bored so quickly if I always drove for the "best spot" on every map and camped their all game so I am just not doing it and focus on driving towards objectives instead.

Your decision though. If you wanna leave then leave but if you are one of those guys camping and climbing all game then personally I am glad that you are gone because having players like that on my team is nothing but aggravating and annoying and there are plenty of those players around these days sadly...
pretty sure they recently said they wanted to increase the distance between different tech levels in the br system
WWII tanks did not stop being used at the end of WWII though. They continued service for some time. There is actually a few still in use by some countries.
You are tired, very tired. Get some rest and come back in a year or two, would be a shame to just leave the game like that.
i have same feelings. Mostly playing on 6.0 (Panther F or jagdpanther (more than 1000 battles on both )), and all the time playing with noobs against other noobs
cool story, bro.

but this is not an airport, you don't need to announce your departure.
So you just quit because you faced enemies in an upranked match who destroyed you.... i mean the idea of a WW2 vs WW2 system or Coldwar vs Coldwar isnt new but this would lead to longer queues, less people playing the game and other bad stuff... i mean yeah a Me 262 is annoying because it has a jet engine and its faster than the others in the room but it doesnt mean that this thing is op and dominates the whole match.
Can I have your stuff?
There are better games that cover WW2 genre.

For War Thunder, the only options I know of to limit the BR stupidity is Custom Battles and Sim Battles.
I'd like to remind everyone that Brasil retired their M3 stuarts in the 1970s .
Good for you, at least now the game is abetter place, with you gone:steamhappy:
