mostly the second one
It's the same in tanks and planes. If I wait like 20s to spawn, for some reason everybody is still slowly approaching the enemies, but if I'm the first one in I'll have a trail of people 500m behind me waiting for me to get attacked so they can swoop in to pick off the crippled plane kill. Tanks on the other hand is everybody spreads out to the edges of the map, turns on thermals and scans for white pixels and one shot kills. Can't even remember the last time I SURVIVED a hit, let alone got repair help from a team mate at anything above like 4.7. I think 4.7's the cutoff for playing for fun and when the game turns into playing for your own kill count and nothing else.
in all seriousness there is no rule everyone has to conform to, even falsely assuming everyone you meet ingame is an english speaker, 'glhf' 'gg' etc are just conventions that have somehow made their way into common use among certain demographics
the moment you start actually requiring someone to say 'hello' or anything else rather than being a natural greeting it becomes rote that might as well be automated for all the meaning it retains, and when chat is filled with over a dozen robotic and utterly meaningless abbreviations for greetings where is the option to filter it to actual human communication
i have nothing to say to people outside my squad so i dont, simple as that. If there is some kind of banter i actually care enough to get involved in its not going to be a bunch of teenagers spouting letters at each other because they have forgotten how to communicate naturally
heres my personal list that comes to mind right off the top of my head:
USA: screw em they're big three and have a .50 on every tank that makes life hell
USSR: screw em they're big three and their broken and or unecessary vehicles IE pantsir/Kronshtadt/etc
GER: screw em they're big three and every one of their vehicles is undertiered; dont even get started with their 20mm BS at reserve ranks
UK: screw em and their SPACEfires; I won't forget the old days of grinding air RB when nation vs nation was a thing
JP: screw em they're dirty weebs
CN: screw em and their sekrit dokuments, WMA, and copy paste tree
ITA: screw em and their pasta-mobiles; especially back when the R3 AA was first added
FRA: screw em and their B1 Bis nonsense
SWE: screw em and their germany 2.0 crap
IL: screw em and their broken fragment of a techtree that shouldve been added to the US as a separate line.
So whenever I look at any player and the nation they play I just don't really care to be bothered to talk; let em do their thing and screw off. this is coming from someone who has played most of the nations above and hit top tier and many of em.
I am biased and I do not care.
France and Japan might be the only two I don't hate as much as the rest.
