What kind of monitor you got to play War Thunder?
i am just always amaze with player who can shoot enemies from very far away, just pure curious, what monitor specifications are you using? for every players out there, what screen size do you find most comfortable for gameplay? Is a 24-inch monitor sufficient? does the refresh rate of the monitor affect player performance in War Thunder? Is there a significant difference between a 60Hz and 144Hz monitor in gameplay?

If you have good enough hardware, try to enable SSAA (you need really good PC) or launch game in higher resolution that your screen (so if you use 1080P, launch it in 1440P). You will see big difference (not only WT related, majority of games looks much better when you use such "trick").

gonna do this options, surely it will help with my eyes issue LOL xD

Just decided to check out how much of a difference my new monitor at 3400x1440 over my old 1920x1080 monitor has made.

Is this a true definition of a 'P2W' advantage lmao?

this is sure make difference when engaging enemies in CQB, so wider screen gonna give more advantage to your field of view right???

this is the problem with me, i use 24" when i see tiny dot moving i must get closer to screen to see it is just windy tree or enemy tank or enemy air or it is just speck of dust on my monitor xD

Unfortunately FreeSync does not work properly with WT and I do get some tearing when I am at specific altitudes and hunting for ground targets. But still much easier to see targets at the ground compared to old 27" display.

this is the biggest screen for now xD maybe i should use my TV too xD

So basically monitor sure help with spotting enemies from far away and with proper setting too.

I just use a gaming laptop. Yes, a large monitor would really be better.

First off, below 120Hz is always worse than 120Hz+ in every test ever conducted. Second off, the eyes don't process anything, the brain does, and neither organ can have FPS as a meaningful measurement.

It's a 1440p 165Hz HDR400 display. It can only do 120Hz when using 10-bit color however...

As long as you're staying above 60FPS average on a 120Hz or better display, resolution is the biggest advantage you can get for this game. Framerate is not as critical as it is in competitive shooters. Going to 1440p or even 4k, so long as you can stay above 60FPS, will benefit you more than going to a higher framerate.

After resolution, then you actually want to go for HDR. It makes it much easier to see unmarked enemies, since there is a greater contrast between the vehicles and the environment. (even to the point of sometimes seeing them through bushes. In aid to this, it's best to play most games in a darkened environment, (doesn't have to be pitch black, but don't have lights on and keep your window blinds/curtains closed) simply because it makes everything on the display easier to see. Optimal ambient illumination level is whatever the minimum is for your monitor. (everything but OLED will have a small amount of backlight bleedthrough, and you can see it when displaying a solid black screen, matching that level for ambient is ideal)

After those considerations, then go for something with better than 120Hz. If you're skipping the previous two recommendations, and getting a 480Hz 1080p display, you're actually going to have a much harder time than you would with even a 60Hz 1440P display. (though never drop below 60Hz, or you're not going to have a good time either)

simply moving camera around is night and day difference. high tier jets are unplayable below 120hz if you ask me. goes way too fast. when i went from 60hz to 170hz monitor my kills with planes almost double. it is like all move slow motion but i am fast, the flash! i can see it all so clear.

So it is always an advantage to have higher Hz in the game, because you can see way more clear, so better monitor screen is better then xD

Basically a higher Hz monitor gives you much smoother looking and feeling game play as a higher Hz monitor lets you see more frames essentially as long as your hardware can perform that well etc. Easy to see the difference in this video comparing 60Hz to 120Hz etc - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1cmhZs1P54

Anti-Aliasing. Warthunder runs ridiculously good so we can afford to render it at higher than native resolutions for Super Sampling Anti-Aliasing.

Personally I play on a 2560x1440 165 hertz monitor but I render at 5k 5120x2880 with DLSS set to Ultra for supreme Anti-Aliasing quality whilst still being locked to 165 FPS on a 3080 ti.

This extra crispness makes seeing things so much easier especially in foliage.

Just be warned once you get used to a higher Hz monitor, lower Hz monitors will start to look or feel 'stuttery' lol. I used to be not bothered by 30fps in games till I got used to my new 100Hz monitor, now 30fps looks like a stuttering mess to me :/

For sure, 60 FPS to me is now terrible to look at. - Although I've settled on 90 FPS being quite smooth even though I can tell 165 is much smoother.

Curved Sony VAIO Trinitron CPD-120VS 17in.

If you haven't played modern games on it, have you truly lived at all?

Yeah. War Thunder's problem is that the anti aliasing suck. So 1080p even at 15.6" doesn't look nice. 2560 x 1600 at 16" is fine. Kinda like 4k on 27 inch PPI level.

If you're not using DLSS then the best AA option is SSAA 4x which the game does offer.

That is the most superior form of AA (short of 8x, which sadly isn't available) but it's expensive.
