stock BTR80A kinda bad

i've played a couple of matches, obviously can't pen anything from the front, so i only tried shooting people on the side.

either i must've had some really bad luck, or not even half of my shot's go through with API-T even.
And this is from the side.

I feel like APDS is like mandatory for this thing to be viable if you're facing anything bigger than a light tank.

for an IFV, its pretty bad, and at 7.0, its just terrible. Your better off using the BMP-1 instead

This IFV shouldn't even face tanks, like every. Except ♥♥♥♥ gone fubar. If you do it right and flank it can deal pretty devastating damage. Seen it a lot as enemy and some do pretty well with it.

BTR80A isn't even capable of anti tank duties unless facing up against outdated garbage and opponents that are very unlucky or are completely untrained so I am not sure why it even in ground forces to be honest. Even BMPs that are designed as APCs primarily are million times better at it generally.

Yeah the stock grind is terrible but with the APDS it works at 7.0 but it works even better at 11.7

It's so bad at its br that it performs better at top tier because so many tanks have no armor on the side at those brs unlike 6.0-8.0.

binoculars and spot everything in your view range it help a lot cas to work and others grounded too with awareness.

It reward you an assist according to intel anyway, I feel this is how most "lights" sshould works instead of doing their own war alone somewhere.

Yeah got a pretty easy 5K, you can flank well but you gotta be quick to take the gun and any 50 cals they have cus they will tear through you, stuff has very weak side armour and you meet more squishy IFVs etc.

Why didn't Gaijin just add the BTR-90, those have the 2A42 autocannons, and would fit in 7.0 pretty good. Still being big, no armor and pretty mobile. There was no need to add anything between SU-100P and BMP-1, but if gaijin insists, why add garbage?

going to uptier it than and see how ti goes.

at7.0 MGs also tear through my armor, so im'not really afraid of 50s, just sucks that you don't have a stabiliser

they were originally gonna place the BTR-80A at 5.7.......... then they decided to give it its sabot round and push it up to 7.0, for some odd reason. They would have been better off using the BTR-82 or the BTR-90 at this point cause it has no reason to exist when you got the BMP-1 at 7.3

sounds like they should put the BTR at 5.7 and than when you unlock APDS at 7.0......

or they should have just chosen a different BTR series and dropped it in a location that was more reasonable
